Hello everyone, I have a question to ask, I would like to know if any members here on the board have used any company or person to get Thompson parts blued or re-blued? I have several parts that are in excellent condition except for the finish. I would like a true bluing, not cold bluing! no parked or black, but closer to a true blue. Switch paddles, pivot plates, and mag catches. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Stampcollector

Looks like it's been modified/sanded. something just looks off. But may be a Colt!

TD. I think you may be correct unmarked and then roll marked Cutts. When looking at the pictures to compare!

Bob, and TSMGguy, I'm posting more photos of the Comp and wanted to say the bluing is odd color and thin. It is a new part just not a good bluing job!

Thanks TD. I had never seen this "Cutts" roll marked comp version before. I wish it had all the Cutts patent info also, but just Cutts on it! Still cool to see these are being made for the Thompson community for replacement or display use.

Thank you for posting this Ron, I seen Mike and Julie at the TCA Show and shoot at the end of April this year. I seen him last year at TCA and at Traci's a couple of times. Always enjoyed talking to Mike and Julie and considered them as a friend. I am very shocked to hear about his passing and give my condolences to the Wank family. Mike (Stampcollector)

Yes, threads are the same as all Cutts comp. Fitting 28 barrels from WW2 and new made barrels.

I bought a new semi M1 SBR from KAHR in 2010 and could barely cock it, damn! Did feel unsafe because of the pull it took to cock. Weapon shot just fine. Got easy spring kit from Dear slayer here on the board and Wow! What a difference it made. It felt like a normal Weapon after that. Functions just fine and doesn't seem to be harder on the weapon. It was an easy fix. And inexpensive! Though would add my experience on this. Take care everyone

Doug Quaid, hey I know I talked out of my butt! lol. But I thought I did see a WH go for $25,000, because I seen it on my watched list, not there now. I think it was about a month or so ago. I know your right, way to much $$! all West Hurley's have to be judged individually. Some have a lot of upgrades. And some still have factory grip hanger that is a M1 on a 1928 model. Purple parts not WW2 parts.

I seen a WH sell on gun broker a couple of weeks ago for $25,000.00 Prices are going up on all TSMG's across the board. Time moves on, it's 2023 now!

Bought my (low serial # 42●A) Thompson WH 1928 about 10 years ago and it's run without a hitch except for the time I put (by mistake) reduced power semi-wad cutter .45acp in it. It came with all WW2 parts except the receiver, barrel and compensator. It had correct Lyman rear sight. I have since had Bob @ Philadelphia Ordnance replace the barrel with Savage WW2 barrel and pinned the compensator. Love it! have no regrets ?
