  1. Selling off some of my collection as I ready for retirement. This gun will be at the Morphy auction November 17 and 18th. I brought this same gun to the Thompson meet a few years ago and got lots of compliments. A museum piece that I chased for many years before acquiring. Item # 1025 pages 24 and 25. https://issuu.com/morphyauctions/docs/flipdoc_nov_firearms/26 https://issuu.com/morphyauctions/docs/flipdoc_nov_firearms?fr=sN2YzNzQ2NjA1NQ Also selling an original finish Auto Ordnance M1A1 item #1022 And 100 round drum #1026. A dent is mentioned in the description of the drum but I never noticed it or would have removed it myself being an aircraft sheet metal mechanic for 10 years. Bunch of other stuff too.
  2. Wanted to buy NOS M1A1 Auto ordnance bolt. If you have one great or even if you know where one is that would be great as well. Need it fairly quickly. PM me please.
  3. Yes the paperwork has taken forever but now the guns are off. Lots of back and forth corrections on other class 3 stuff with the BATFE. Morphys did handle most everything paperwork-wise and sent metal shipping contains with pre-paid and insured shipping.
  4. Thanks. Thats about what I thought. These are REAL nice and have 2 rounds in each magazine so they kinda sorta look loaded.
  5. Right now I have a lot on my plate personally. Not ready for more stuff to handle. I'll try and get fair pricing info here and may offer it up later.
  6. I sent the guns off a few days ago. The 1921AC with one like new patent date Colt mag and the like new, never arsenal refinished , Auto Ordinance M1A1 with three new in wrapper Seymore magazines. I'm trying to find and put legitimate values on the birdshot mags, cleaning rod, and of all things a fake cleaning kit. The birdshot magazines are in like new condition and have 2 rounds each inserted so as to make them look loaded. The cleaning rod has a green wax at the tip. Is this how they shipped ? Perhaps its never been used. Any help determining fair values for buyer and seller would be appreciated. I'm keeping one shooter grade 1928A1 and a like new never arsenal refinished Savage M1A1.
  7. I've worked with Morphy buying before. They cut a deal on commissions and handled everything fairly smoothly. Just one bump or two. AFAIK a 1921 there set the price record for Colt Thompsons. I've never seen a higher number.
  8. Just one Colt; 5682. Its minty. Also selling a sweet non arsenal refinished M1A1. Keeping one of those and a "shooter" grade 1928A1
  9. When purchasing my Colt 1921 it came as a package including an original 100 round drum, 2 20 round Colt mags, an original cleaning rod, a nice repro case, 2 18 round birdshot mags and other bits. I'll be offering it at November's Morphy auction. To get the best return should I sell the bits and pieces off as separate items or the whole bundle as one item ? I'm thinking different people will value different items more highly than the entire bundle. Unless there is that one person that wants a collection already assembled.
  10. I have a magazine fed Astra 903 with a shot out bore in 7.63 I would love to do a 9MM conversion but am afraid of destroying some provenance. There was a 903 upper on GB awhile ago and I should have bought it even though it was well worn itself. On my Astra the upper is different from the semis; 901 and 902.
  11. This is what happens when you print $28 trillion spare dollars. And with the current administration expect more. Lots more. EVERYTHING has gone up; housing, cars, food, crypto, gold, stocks ....everything. I'm getting rid of all my "cash" and putting it into hard assets or investments. When's the best time to buy a Thompson ? Yesterday.
  12. The M1 or M1A1 is the "perfect" Thompson. Idiot proof, genuine history, spare parts available cheap, and you wont hurt the value shooting it. Scratch it ? Now it has "patina" The compensator guns dont shoot any better. Drums, while sexy, are unnecessary, heavier and expensive for WW2 era ones. WW2 sticks are everywhere and cheap. PS if true about M1 and M1A1 prices... glad to see they are up again. Who wants to be in a hobby thats declining ?
  13. We dont know if its a bubble or a trend. This next auction will be an indicator. Just a few months ago Bitcoin's "bubble" was about to pop at $21K. Then Elon Musk and others got involved. BTC at $57k today. Elon needs to get into Thompsons
