  1. BATFE is requesting photos of my 1921AC as part of a transfer. What should the barrel length be listed as on the transfer form for the Cutt's equipped barrel? The forms currently list the length as 10.5 inches. With the Cutt's, it can measure a bit longer. Rifle is NO6577. Should I make changes to the form, or just send in the requested photos and the forms as is? Thanks!
  2. I am probably going to need to close my FFL 01 / SOT3 and have a few questions that I cannot find sterling answers for. Any help via DM would be appreciated. Thanks!
  3. https://www.armslist.com/posts/13227109/el-reno-oklahoma-rifles-for-sale---45-acp-thompson So, am I just missing something here, or is this some sort of "real deal"?
  4. PR photo from "Dilinger", released by IAP in the summer of 1973. I sent Taliaferro my mother's shooting copy of the script for research purposes a couple of years ago. It may have been on one of the tables at his show... I have been unable to attend since I sent it. Kind of an interesting artifact. IIRC the PR shots were done on set, but by a production photographer. I think I still have a few rolling around here. Milius was doing this on the super cheap, so everyone had multiple tasks. It was pretty cool to be a kid on the set while it was being made. The prop guys were very kind and allowed me to handle (with appropriate supervision, of course!) most if not all of the weapons used in filming. An amazing group of future stars were in that production.
  5. Don't know for certain about the particular Thompson listed, but I can tell you that I have purchased some minty minty mint firearms from Tom... I think he must have a time machine somewhere. His collection is outstanding. /john
  6. I would start wearing a tie again if I could find a Thompson tie clip.... sigh... /john
  7. The American Rifleman recently profiled Dan Combs of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol: Dan Combs I recently had the opportunity to have a few minutes with this particular Thompson. I took a few close up photographs while it was out of the display case. Forgive the quality and composition, I am a terrible photographer and had a short window to work in. Perhaps I will get a longer session with the rifle in the future. I also was not able to get permission to do a take down, so there are no pictures of the internals. I saw lots to comment on; I hope some on the forum will have some insights. Thanks for looking. https://drive.google.com/open?id=10SFp2QtGuh-nZzIxvwwwvM4oILzTdNWt
  8. Have to remember when getting caught up in auction frenzy that its 32.5 x 1.25 = 40K ish. A bargain is not always a bargain.. I watch ALL the NFA items and ocationally a few deals do come up. I bought a Valmet M82 for 8 grand a few auctions ago because it had a cracked stock. They ALL crack. I was watching a real C+R Uzi that was about 7K the night before the auction. I was going to "steal it" for up to 20K. Nope. Others were aware of what it really was. Went for 50K after premiums. That near perfect magazine fed Mauser broom handle went too cheap at 18k x 1.25. Probably a 40K or more gun. Should have bought it but was waiting on the UZIs. First page of the posted results, number 38, hammer at 27.5 +18% to the 32.5 approximate selling price. Too bad about the Uzi. 50k is strong for that one. I guess the lesson what you stated, do your best to "steal" at a great price when possible, as it seems that prices are perhaps starting to drop (?). Thanks!
  9. Was there something wrong with the 1921AC that sold for 32.5k??? I mean, is that not like 10-15k less than one might for for a yeaer ago?
  10. A quick check indicates the hosting entity expired... and if so, then those using them might be out of luck unless they have access to an archive of their site somewhere. tommygunner.com was hosted at clearwaterconnections.com which is suspended by whatever entity they rent from. A common problem when using a local Ma & Pa Kettle ISP, unfortunately.
  11. Took a look at the pre-sale estimate on Morphy's. Question: is the estimate in line with the visual condition of the weapon?
  12. That sucks. I just did one a week or so ago, and it was a day and a half. And I screwed up on the first submission, and had to call in!
  13. I just want that firearm the character in the image is using. Would save a ton on ammo costs :-)
  14. http://www.machinegunboards.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=5587 Enjoy!
  15. There you go! That's why I ask... the knowledge on this forum is unparalleled. (My mistake, yes 9488). /john
  16. I'm certainly no expert, but 9448 sure seems nice: https://www.gunbroker.com/item/769617007 And a very low starting bid, with no reserve. What am I missing?
  17. I've traded with TS Arms in the past, with no issues. Don't know about this specific TSMG, it will be interesting to see the reserve (if not the BIN)
  18. Perhaps purchased by a newly minted bitcoin millionaire? :-)
