What was the actual original finish on WW2 production Sten mk IIIs? Parerkized? blued? Suncorite? I have seen all of these finishes on complete guns and parts kits. Thanks

Can anyone offer any advice on removing the front sight from a lewis gun clamp ring? Which way does it back out, and what tool(s) should be used? I don't have anything in my tool arsenal that would work. Was there a purpose made tool? Thanks in advance.

Many thanks for the help. I will try to tinker with it. This one is not a rewat, so it should be able to function. I have quite a few spare springs so I can start there. Was not aware that currently produced 8mm Lebel is underpowered.

Does anyone know of someone who can tweak/optimize a 1915 CSRG chauchat? Keep getting the stovepipe malfunction which I believe is a failure to eject. These things really were awful, although interesting from a historical perspective. For some reason I have two....

I know the Sten front grips were somewhat of a failure and withdrawn from service. I just received my Mark V Sten. Its a legitimate WW2 mark V and I would really like to add a front grip to it, though I have never seen one for sale. Do they even exist ? Would even consider a repro if it looked authentic Thanks.

As it turns out I have an "L" marked sight in my spare parts box. Is there a special tool to remove the front sight blade? thanks for the help.
