Same situation where I haven't heard any word from Bob. I figured he's been caught up with other work.

Indianapolis Ordnance 1928 Blank Firing Kit
Renz replied to Steelflood's topic in Thompson Submachine Gun Message Board
I'm still keeping an eye out for one of these 1928 Blank Firing kits. However, there doesn't seem to be a lot of info out there on whether Indianapolis or Philadelphia Ordinance is still producing them. Edit: Just noticed Indianapolis has the 1928s back in stock. -
M1's for sales, does anyone know Minigun3 ?
Renz replied to Moose1's topic in Thompson Submachine Gun Message Board
Thompson 6 has an interesting note in the description stating both the receiver and frame are matching with serial number 787065. Given the high SN, it should be a late production gun most likely produced after Savage supposedly stopped marking their frames in January of 1943. Would have been nice if the seller included a picture of the frame's SN. -

3D printing a half scale M1A1
Renz replied to laurencen's topic in Thompson Submachine Gun Message Board
Just a thought for your project; the lower frame on the M1/M1A1 Thompson varies slightly from 1928 lowers. Might as well ask for the M1A1 frame cad file If you want to be 100% on the replica. -
Out of curiosity, does anyone have a picture of the PK diamond logo on a Thompson?

ChesterfieldArmament.com is selling several NOS unfinished foregrips on gunbroker. These should fit the 1/2 grip mount. Heres a link to one of the grips that appears to be “S” marked https://www.gunbroker.com/item/848832659 -

Thompson Gunsmith in Arizona?

Is Mr. Nelson Ford by any chance set up for black oxide bluing? -
Thought this would be interesting to share. The Captain Miller Thompson from Steven Spielbergs Saving Private Ryan film will be up for grabs at UKs PropStore auction at the price of what a full auto Tommy will run you. It appears to have been converted from a real Thompson to fire blanks. Lots of photos available on their website. https://bit.ly/2kw8uTK

Savage M1A1 Thompson SN: 815889
Renz replied to G-Man1006's topic in Thompson Submachine Gun Message Board
It may be the lighting but it's interesting that the Dulite finish has a bit of a brown hue to it in some places more than others, especially on that rear sight. The butt plate looks as if it has never been pressed against a shoulder. Excellent example.
