  1. Anyone have any recent sale results for this gun. I have access to a clean example, 1952 (leaf sight). Matching. My gut tells me ~$35K. Not as collectible as the PPSH.
  2. There are no shortage of date correct magazines for you.... someone just has to give them up! Now the real test will be the loader. It took me a while to assemble the matching magazines AND loader for my Bnz41. Now I have all magazines and loaders to match. You might also look for correct waffen stamped spare parts....
  3. And from my interactions with John, his hours are well spent and a good investment. He does great work.
  4. I'm glad I found the sight adjustment tool... my gun was way off and the tool made it simple to move the front sight to a good zero. For those of you who wonder what it looks like, I'll post pics here later today. It's quite the tool.... not what you would think.
  5. They did and I own two of them.
  6. I have dealt with Spiwak on three different gun purchases and they have all been very good. With David, if you don't like what you buy when you get it, he'll give you a 100% refund. Period.
  7. Great points all. While at West Point (as a cadet) everyone had a M14 which we kept in our rooms. The rifles were US Government issue, but modified (like most were) to semi-auto only. We loved those guns. For training however, we carried M16's. In Ranger School I carried a FA M14. Loved it. While training in Ft. Benning in 1985 I purchased a SA M1A and was lucky enough to have the Army Markmanship Unit (AMU) on the range the same day. They took my rifle and gave it a working over... A few years ago I had the opportunity to buy a very low SN SA M1A which was factory select fire. What a great gun. I love shooting it and on FA it's a blast. Kinda of a bitch to clean but oh well. Everyone should get one.
  8. Which probably means he has multiple units and people are buying... ugh.
  9. Very cool. Did it come with the Blue gloves?
  10. How interesting. I have no idea how to value it. Generally speaking the prices I noted earlier seem to follow the market for these guns.
  11. I never knew SA did custom SN's....so someone sent them the TRW receiver and they built a FA gun?
  12. Correct. Plus, this time around, no "tubes" to register.. just pre-1975 guns (foreign) and pre-1962 guns (american), per the description of how I would manage this process, outlined above.
  13. Hard to believe some of our Forum friends don't have any coffin mags....
  14. And to make matters even more suspicious, he sent me a follow email asking me to make a partial PayPal payment, then he'd send the three coffin mags and pouch, and then I could pay him later! Really? Plus, the grammar in his notes is highly suspicious.
  15. And, I just picked this up, the numbers are raised, not imprinted.
  16. Interesting, all is shoot is Cold War surplus 7.62x25 and have yet to have a misfire. All mine are hard primers also.
