  1. When did "need" ever enter into our discussion of subguns? I tell my customers all the time they only "need" one or two guns, after that, it's just what they want to buy. If "need" were the criteria, this board would have shut down long ago.... That said, at the current price it is very inviting, but the auction doesn't begin until April 27 and I bet the price will run up to current worth in the final hours, possibly even going over it's value. That's how auctions work and we've all gotten caught in the fever and overbid on something. But it bears watching anyway.
  2. Store Supply warehouse Small Stem Mount Metal Sign Holder SKU: 20113 $3.27 Quantity: 1 Sub Total: $3.27 Sales Tax: $0.46 Shipping Cost: $4.15 Shipping Method: ENDPOS1P TOTAL: $7.88 Cheap enough even if shipping was more than the item! Now I hope I can adapt it to my box.
  3. I got to thinking about the document holder and it suddenly dawned on me it is very similar to a 5X7" metal picture frame, you know, the cheap walmart kind. So I did a google search and this popped up: https://www.amazon.com/Elevator-certificate-frame-stainless-Steel/dp/B082J8NMMZ Stainless, I know, and not exactly the size we need, but its a start. There's got to be something out there that will work or can be adapted to work. I am going to dig through the old picture frames we have in a closet and see if one can be used, or order something like this Amazon elevator certificate holder and see if it will work. I need another project. This frame might be adaptable to work as well: https://www.storesupply.com/pc-12011-1278-sign-holder-metal-stem-mount-5-12h-x-7w-20113.aspx?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=G_Signage_PerformanceMax_SSW_P&utm_id=19652652646&utm_content=&utm_term=&campaignid=19652652646&network=x&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw_e2wBhAEEiwAyFFFo_nsO5bekM7BlZhUY2IhpYFLKVLOtN1QslkOrYxiQrnk7R4J4AGFjxoC3tcQAvD_BwE I'm still looking, so far the frames that are used to hold a price on a rack of clothes or such seem like the best way to go, I may get one and see if it can be adapted. I'll check back in when I have something to report.
  4. I posted here about finding a doc holder frame, but I've moved it to the other transport box thread, more appropriate there.
  5. Thanks for the scan, I'll have to use all my limited computer skills to get this to the correct size, maybe ask one of my neighbors kids to assist. I seem to recall reading something that Mr. Lake couldn't find a suitable holder either. Surely there is something out there we could use or adapt.
  6. Yep, my feelings exactly about all my subguns, who cares about accuracy, its all about rock 'n roll and burning up ammo. For accuracy I use a semi gun or pistol. YMMV.
  7. Since I now have one too I'd like a copy of the parts list if you get it made up, happy to pay you for your efforts, of course. I've not loaded mags and put them in my box either, but I guess I need to do that sometime just to check it out. As sturdy as the box is I don't think it would overburden the thing.
  8. I messaged the seller, it is a Wilson tube gun, one drum and one stick mag included. Not a bad price right now, but in the final hours it will likely seek its worth ($30,000is). I am watching it anyway.
  9. Yeah, I should have been clearer on this. Someone posted this pic and that's how I "came across it." It really does look quite nice, not authentic, but a skillful design and great workmanship of a museum quality presentation case nonetheless. I don't have any other pics, but the suitcase style handle and the finished wood make it look like something that would be given to a general or other official. I wish I could remember where I saw it.
  10. That's a new one, ive not seen that on the signature line. If they indeed are turning over new e-file form 4's quickly( and mine have been very fast the past two months), what about those sent in early in 2023? I'm still waiting on a customer's form 4 that I e-filed in March. Not fair for sure.
  11. I recently came across this case, someone did a lot of nice work on it. Not authentic, but I doubt the owner cares.
  12. Just got my latest approval, 11 days with mailing in the fingerprint cards.
  13. In case anyone is looking, there's a new listing for a S&W model 76 on Sturm, but the price is $17.5k. Have prices jumped that much in the last six months? I pad a good bit less for mine last year, but if they've gone up that much, I'm not complaining now that I have one.
  14. Never overlook the cool factor in movies! That said, I suppose it is possible that it might have been done in the situation in which Lee Marvin's character found himself in "The Dirty Dozen" as he was guarding a bunch of murderers and thugs, not in an actual combat setting. But I think it was doubtful. I'll have to go to IMDB and check who was the military advisor on the set, if they had one. Most of this type movies did have a retired service man giving advice, but that didn't mean they always (or ever!) took it. I always count the rounds fired from guns in movies, and most machine guns seem to have at least a 200 round magazine capacity, I know Bruce Willis's MP5 did in Die Hard!
  15. New record for me, just this morning received notice of a suppressor approval I submitted electronically on Feb. 15. That's 19 days!
  16. I guess this is the place for this topic, I couldn't find any other that matched my subject matter. I have a 37mm grenade launcher I got from an old retired Air Force Vet who had tons of guns and parts. I also bought a Mac 10 from him and saw a couple of other FA items that i don't think were registered. He passed away and the heirs took over but I got a box of parts that had this launcher. I have no use for it but looking online there seems to be a market for them. Several sites have them listed but out of stock, and the going price varies from about $400 on up .I'm not looking to make a killing on this, just unload it for a little below what its worth. If anyone is interested please contact me and we can discuss it.
  17. Yeah, astronomical prices in Cherokee County. My son lives in Canton and on a recent visit we went to a friend's land he recently purchased "out in the country" for mega-bucks. I took a few of my "toys" and we let the grandkids shoot some FA pieces. When Jonathan told me what his friend paid for the land I did a jaw drop, its just ridiculous. But he has enough acreage that shooting there isn't a problem.
  18. Scott, I've got a couple I"ll probably never get around to modifying/using, so I might as well sell them to you.
  19. Terrific work, I greatly admire craftsmanship zu h as yours.
  20. NO affiliation, just saw this pop up, but there's a STEN tube gun made by Special Weapons for sale for $13.5K buy now if anyone is interested. I"ve sold my STENs and all the parts with no plans to go back to one, seems like a decent price considering. Item 1030165157
