  1. I just sent off two FOI request for my 1942 M-1 Thompson SMG and my 1943 Reising M-50 SMG. I requested all the information that they have on both firearms. Just curious what experiences other have had in doing this. William
  2. How can you tell the difference between a 20rd Reising Pouch and a 20rd Thompson Pouch? This one is on gunbroker Thanks, https://www.gunbroker.com/item/1027403671
  3. That’s a nice one. Where did you find it?
  4. Gotcha. Thanks for the information
  5. So, you not allow to transfer with a form 3 dealer to dealer if you have your C&R ?
  6. Can you purchase a machine gun and have it shipped directly to you if you have a ATF C&R Licenses and the gun qualities as a C&R firearm ? I collect military firearms with a special interest in WW2 weapons. I already have 2 machine guns in my collection. A M-1 Thompson and a M-50 Reising. William
  7. I just checked. My M-1 has the M-1 bolt in it.
  8. How can you tell the difference between a fixed and floating bolt. I actually don’t know what types in my Thompson now.
  9. Does it matter if the firing pin is fixed or floating? From what I have read it don’t.
  10. I have a 1942 M-1. Was looking at getting an extra bolt for it. Just wanted to make sure that a M-1 bolt and a M1A1 bolt are interchangeable. William
  11. I purchased a carrying case for a Ruger 10/22 rifle at Academy Sports. It works great. My Thompson M-1 fits perfectly in it with a 20rd mag. I also, got a 2nd one to carry my M-50 Reising in too.
  12. Here is my other original WW 2 poster from GE with a Reising.
  13. Just got this framed and put up to add to my WW 2 gun collection. A original 1945 War Bonds poster with a soldier firing a Reising Model 50 SMG.
  14. He is a great video on Youtube from Forgotten Weapons. It shows how to break the Reising down step by step and a little history on the Reising.
  15. I have never broken the firing pin in mine but I did buy a replacement pin from keystone to keep in stock. Since it appeared mine had the original springs that were over 75 years old (1943 model) I got a spring kit from Keystone and had a local gunsmith replace them all. My Reising runs great. Even the magazine with the weak springs runs fine, it just want feed that last round. Also, I have several Christy Mags and one of them fits tight in my Resising also but it runs great in the gun.
  16. Congratulations, I have had mine for almost 2 years. I too have a 20rd mag that will not feed the last round. I assume it's due to an old mag spring.
  17. Does anyone have any information or pictures of the military using Model 60 carbine. I know they were designed for the home security forces during the war but I have read where some we used by the Marines and Coast Guard.
  18. Here a picture with the stock removed.
  19. My father had this in his collection. I know there's not a lot of information on them. I have attached several pictures. Does this appear to be an original stock or a reproduction? My father had it for at least 20+ years. I can provide more pictures if that will help.
  20. I use a Ruger 10-22 soft case to transport mine to the range and for storage in my gun safe. I actually keep my M-50 Reising in one also. They both fit perfectly. William
  21. Here are a few close up pictures of the sight and the S stamp on the bottom of the gun.
  22. I do have an old pic of my father with the gun when he bought it back in 1974. The current site was on it when he got it.
  23. Yes. It does have the matching serial number. So, with this being a early M1 should i insure it for more than $25,000.
  24. Thanks for the informaiton guys. Espically on it being a early M1 not a M1A1. I have the orginal NFA paperwork my father did in 1974 and it's listed as a M1A1. So, will the M1 not take the drum magizine? I know the militry didnt like them and designed the M1A1 not to take them and developed the 30 rd magizine instead.
