I just purchased one of the Amazon replica rifle cases. My OOW A1918 (M1918 replica) fit right in. For the price, I think it’s quite nice. Much nicer than I was expecting. Would definitely buy again if I get a 1903.

I hadn’t realized how expensive BAR magazines have gotten lately. It’s crazy what people are charging for beat up surplus magazines. They’re going for more than I paid for NOS blued BAR mags I got a few years ago.
I can remember when M1918a3’s were $2500. It was the late 80’s. An unobtainable amount for me back then.
My NIB A1918 cost me $6k four years ago.
I wonder what OOW BAR’s will be in 20 years.
I just realized it was about a year ago you started this thread inquiring about getting this built. In that time, you talked to deerslayer, got into his queue for the work, and he got it done. I’m impressed with how fast all this came together!
I would imagine that’s the only semiautomatic BAR Jungle Carbine in the world. It needs a leather scabbard though. Something similar to the Garand scabbards.
No; however, there was an experimental bipod mount threaded for the flash hider at one time:
Maybe an A2 bipod mount / flash hider could be turned down and threaded.
Forgot, my OOW A1918 came with both a flash hider and a thread protector. Maybe OOW might have a few thread protectors left over from the A1918’s? Long shot probably though.
I saw an image this week somewhere on the internet of a BAR that had a mount where the rear sight goes. Picture wasn’t detailed enough to make out the mount.
OOW’s HCAR picatinny mount probably fits the A1918 and M1918a3.
Griffen and Howe make a side mount for a flat sided receiver. I would imagine that if the Army had wanted to scope the BAR, they would have started with the guys that were making the M1C mounts.
