  1. I have no idea, but it's one helluva show! Two thumbs up for Tricia Helfer.
  2. I guess I better speak up here with the rest too if anyone ends up with an "extra" one. They were already out of stock (supposedly) when I ordered mine. Jaron
  3. Could it be that they are trying to come up with as many excuses as possible to not ship these, so they can come back in a month or so and charge a much higher price? They say they don't have any left, but there sure seems to be alot of orders that they have since invalidated to still have no more. Sounds bad kind of fishy. Jaron
  4. Nuke Mecca! That'll make their day. They'll be able to pray towards any direction they want. I'm glad we have a few congressmen that agree.
  5. Glad I don't live there. They wouldn't get my guns without bloodshed. That is a frighteningly serious matter. It amazes me how the constitution can be so easily trampled. Very sad state of affairs when a people disobey their own charter. A sad day for those in Columbus.
  6. Almost better than a PPV boxing match! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/tongue.gif
  7. You mean mud won't do the trick!?! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/tongue.gif
  8. hmmm I wonder if I could get it to do that with blanks.... http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/huh.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/dry.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/blink.gif Jaron
  9. Yes, sorry, the details are as follows: TM-1 SBR w/ BFA, Mod GI Mag Catch, and PK checked for overall functionality. Just the basics. I still plan to have the bolt-hold open mod, and change the rear sight to the "L" sight, but that will be after my 1927a1/1928 project. Thanks all, Jaron
  10. Well, I finally have a pic of my own that shows off Paul's great work. Took this pic in Nebraska this last weekend at Operation Landslide: http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y6/cta2/Landslide05/DCP_4387closeup.jpg Thanks to the community and wealth of knowledge here on the board, Jaron
  11. Jim, I think I just spoiled myself...... you are one lucky man! Jaron
  12. If you don't like them.... you can always just give them to me..... I won't complain. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif
  13. That's what happens when people take Kelley's Heroes for historical gospel.
  14. Damn! That is a great picture lancer! I am green with envy. but what causes the two tone receiver? Jaron
  15. this is how easy it is to use photobucket....... you can paste links: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v396/jar...G_1862_0071.jpg Or the actual picture: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v396/jaronhudgins/NovTraining/IMG_1862_0071.jpg easier than stealing cookies!
  16. If you guys have access to a WalMart nearby, I picked up a cheapo $5-10 video about D-Day from the bargain bin that actually has the film reel that all those stills are taken from..... it is quite nice! But yes, as other's have said previously, these two were in one of the two Demo Platoons of HQ CO. 506th. I am at work otherwise I'd give you their names, I'm sure one of you guys who has "American Warriors" could post their names for us. Beautiful pic. Jaron Hudgins
  17. If the soldier was going to use it without the buttstock, many times they would attach the sling swivel to the bottom end of the pistol grip. You can see a good picture of this being done in de Trez' American Warriors. Jaron
  18. Man Do I feel Good!!! I can't imagine how terrible I would've felt had it gone the other way. Victory, oh sweet victory! Now we just have to make sure that these Republicans remember who got them into power, and that they make sure we keep our freedoms! I wish I had a F/A Thompson right now...... I'd empty all my mags! Jaron
  19. Yeah, Saying he is better than Kerry or Clinton is true....... but that still isn't saying very much..... He's not a Republican that will support our views of gun ownership unfortunately. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/sad.gif Jaron
  20. Yeah, one of each is always the best way to go..... I really like those German Paratrooper Gloves in that last pic...... I need to pick me up some of those. Jaron
  21. Or if you want to do ETO 1943 on..... basically Sicily-Italy-France-Germany or Late PTO - you can go with the TM-1 since it's much cheaper to modify than the '27. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v464/ChallengeBlue/82d%20Museum%20Archives/LTC%20Charles%20Major%20Collection%202-325/scan0013.jpg
  22. I would suggest the route of buying the 16" TM-1 and having PK do the modifications on it after the Form 1 clears. It's much cheaper that way, and you don't have to worry about how it's going to work "out of the box". Jaron
  23. I appreciate your concern completely, and will certainly discuss the issue with the people at the NFA branch. Don't worry about me doing anything to land me in jail. I'm a soul of caution. If the NFA people say not a good idea, I will certainly go by what they say. It was not him that came up with the idea, so it's not impatience on his part. Our WW2 group doesn't have a 1928 thompson currently, and he just happens to be the only one of us with any money. Like I said, I'll check with the NFA guys tomorrow and see what I can find out. Thanks for the phone # again, I had lost that. I have it saved in my phone now. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/wink.gif Jaron
  24. LOL. Hardrede, I think you are interpreting attitude with me where none exists. And btw, thank for the phone number and the quote. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif Very helpful information (with of course I believe a "light" touch of attitude given with it http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/dry.gif ) I'll give them a call tomorrow and see what they say. Could you send me the whole article that you took that quote from to jaron_hudgins@yahoo.com? I would like to read it a bit more thoroughly as I look into this whole thing. But from that excerpt, I gathered that the "straw man" they are speaking of is actually buying the firearm with an ineligible person's money and then handing that weapon over to that ineligible person for their own personal possession. Basically, a middle man, who buys from the dealer and then gives to the ineligible person. If that's the situation it's referring to, wouldn't my situation be completely different? In that , it would always be either under my possession or under my supervision. It goes home with me. It stays at my house. I, in every legal sense, own and possess that weapon. (If that is incorrect thinking, correct me. I'm honestly asking here, not arguing.) Now I admit that the overall purpose of all this effort would be for him to be able to use it at ww2 events, but it would still not be in his possession until after he turns 21 and has it registered in his name. Not to mention, the one he would be registering and owning once he turns 21 is the TM-1 that I already have, not the 1927 that I would be buying. Perhaps I did not explain the situation thoroughly enough in the first post, which then lead to the initial disagreement. I would not be buying a thompson so he could have possession of it. Thanks again for the input http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/smile.gif , I'll give the NFA branch a call, Jaron
  25. Well, there is no straw man argument there. It would be no lie on a Form 1 either. It would simply be a temporary, 2 year loan of the necessary $$, in order for me to own 2 SBR weapons. At the end of 2 years, when he is 21, the loan would expire when it is registered in his name. That part is completely legal. Owning both and taking both to an event is completely legal. That's not really the issue. The issue is more about where the line is drawn about possession between "supervised" and "unsupervised". That's really the issue. For instance, it's the same issue as whether at an event, if I need to go to the rest room, must I take the SBR into the portajohn w/ me or is it ok for someone to hold it while I do my business. I would think that I wouldn't have to hold the SBR while performing the task at hand. So it's about where that line is drawn by what is legal and what is not. But with all due respect, the gun would be bought by and for me, registered in my name and in my ownership and possession. So it shouldn't be a straw man as the ATF or I see it. I certainly am aware that it is by far better to be safe than sorry, which is why I'm asking. Is anyone aware or familiar of any written form of definition that the ATF uses in these kinds of cases? Thanks again, Jaron
