Thompson grip mount wobbly
Countryboy77 replied to jonnyjon88's topic in Thompson Submachine Gun Message Board
Probly had a big ol 3/4" popsicle stick hangar at 1 time. I would put a cote of PVA on the waffenmeisters bracket and jb weld it in placecarefully keeping it out of barrel threads.glue without barrel. When it dries the pva will allow you to knock it loose but it will still be tight. Clean up with sandpaper and screw in barrel and mount .Done.the jb weld will stick to inside of front of receiver and not to the mount bar. -

Countryboy77 replied to Countryboy77's topic in Thompson Submachine Gun Message Board
Yea i thought it seemed a little off, thats why i came here to ask.I knew i woukd get an Intelligent answer.I will save my $.I wasnt trying to buy out of country they used $ for cost and was in english. Thanks again helping us keep our hard earned money to buy Real stuff we want and dont need instead of the ripoff -
Found this site , Thommygunparts.com and they have thompson parts however they havent been ppen long and i would figure anyone who woukd open a website named such with thompson parts would have eigther come out of the thompson community or would have flagged every thompson community soliciting their new store but I havent heard of them. On sturmgewer nobody knows yet.

Ian from forgotten weapons did a video shootingthe thompsom 1921ac the thompson 1928a1 and the Thompson M1 and he thought the M1 was going to be the best of allwhen in fact he was surprised that the 1921 with its higher rate of fire was a better shooting weapon as the harmonics of the weapon really purred with the 1921. Even the 1928a1 shot better he said.I know the blish lock and compensator isnt needed for the gun to run,but they shure do feel better. Its a different shooting impulse( i like them all) but i would never say the M1 was superrior neigther the greasegun eigther. They were just less expensive ro produce.

Stands and Loaders!
Countryboy77 replied to 06AngusSG's topic in Thompson Submachine Gun Message Board
Why dont somone show us how a loader works/looks in action. -
So Basically in a nutshell Every Thompson after the Colt 1921s-1928s and Early Savage are just cheaper and cheaper versions not really solving any Problems but just making it Cheaper and cheaper till they finally leave the Thompson for the M3? I mean thats how History seems to read.Goverment doesnt give the best to everyone,it gives what you need to get by,by the cheapest contract.Well I guess it gave us a variety of different of looks we seen throughout the years .Variations are cool ,keeps the hobby interesting.

I might try this with a $1200 riflescope setup or a pistol but certainly not a $25000+ transferrable. If its lost you will Never be compensated. Not a chance woukd i risk it.it would be cheaper to buy everyone tickets to come to my state instead.Tell my son tell the family there comming to grandpas. -
It shouldnt be bent, possible you bent it knocking it out? Maybe it was supported when struck and you didnt notice how far out it was.Put it on a flat hard surface and tap it back.Theres special vice jaws and pads/ wrenches out there special for this though some have been successful with barrel vises and strap wrenches. If your looking down the barrel counter clockwise unscrews the compensator.

If your staying with family you can ship it to yourself as you would a dealer ,but you would have to be there to accept it.Also All State and local laws need followed. Now If your staying at a motel you can get mail but somthing like that I woukdnt chance unless you tracked it and was waiting for the truck to get there.Only a Transfer needs to go to or through dealer. If its staying in your hands. You can split it into 2 packages if that makes you feel better.I NEVER deal with airlines.if your flight is rerouted no problem. I never bring a firearm to the airlines NEVER.Too much trouble but i do remember a couple days before thanksgiving waiing on the Fedex man. -
Thompson Guns in British & Aussie Service
Countryboy77 replied to rpbcps's topic in Thompson Submachine Gun Message Board
My grandpa did this with the drum to.Before he would wind up the drum he would insert it into the thompson and let the bolt forward making sure the 45s out of the path. Once bolt is closed the drum was wound so the bolt only needed to be pulled rearward.I bet somthing like this was going on unless they were Staged photo opps and empty. That was a different generation, I bet they are loaded. -
They are new mags de for semi auto but will Not fit full autos. The oval hole is from Modified OG Thompson magazines.Because the receiver is a tad shorter that moved grip frame up a little and rather than redesign mag catch they just oval it to make it fit. After all these years Kahr is making proper mags for the semi auto.
