  1. Mongo yes LMG and yes they are larger and also hard to find apparently Colt no longer makes or stocks them.
  2. lI have a friend that needs a gas tube for a Colt LNG in 5.56 apparently they are larger than the standard tubes and hard to find. Would anyone know contact to obtain one or two?
  3. I am looking for a plugged barrel for a M1A1 Thompson, I have been doing some work for a local military museum and they ask if I could make up a dummy receiver and barrel (non-firing). I did two guns a M1A1 and a 1928 on 80% receivers for a local collector and was able to obtain an alumium dummy receiver but no barrel. They wanted a gun that could be handled by young people that come in to get a feel for the weapon, rather than take a chance on having a display gun damaged.
  4. Yes it did include the barrel well a least it was in the box when it was handed to me, the markings on the cutts looks correct and there is a small stamp on the barrel shoulder I cannot read. The firing pin protrusion is .030 and I understand the correct protrusion is .045 to .050 that is why I had suspected a problem with the pin altho I could be mistaken.
  5. I have a problem with the firing pin on this 1928A1, I am getting light firing pin strikes. The receiver has been milled to specs according to the military drawings. The firing pin protrusion is .030. That is with the bolt in battery. The kit was an import back from Russia all parts look to be new with no wear. No idea if that is the case just going on what was told to us when we purchased it . Since I have no specs to compare the firing pin to see if it is correct. Could someone measure one for me and let me know the overall lenght. Or direct me to somewhere I can get the drawing for the pin. Thanks I have having a problem with this 1928 a1
  6. Bob Thanks I was looking for that web site, but had one letter off. I do appreciate it.
  7. I made a mistake I ordered the Machinist book on the 1928A1 but its not working out, where can I get a set of prints for the upper receiver. Any help would be appreciated
  8. Bob Thanks Iooked there must have missed it.
  9. Finally received the receiver to start the build, but have a question. The oiler included in the kit is missing the felt pads, are those available any where or am I going to have to make a set?
  10. This is my father in North Africa 1943 34th Division 168th Inf. He was 24 at the time. When the photo was taken the unit was recovering from the battle of Kasserine Pass and they were scrounging any and all equipment thus the Browning mounted on the weapons carrier.
  11. Yes we are a class 2 manufacturer. I will give him a call when he returns thanks
  12. We just finished up the M1A1 receiver and I have to say the workmanship on the receiver is first rate. Now my employer has a 1928A1 parts kit and wants to complete it. Does anyone know when the receivers might become available?? a1 ki
  13. I just finished machining the final cuts on the M1A1 80% receiver. The work Philadelphia Ordnance does is first rate all the preliminary cuts were exact to the drawings looks like we will have a live gun shortly. Its nice to see that there is still quality work being done in this country.
  14. thanks for the help I did find some on https://www.scribd.com/document/37712185/Thompson-m1a1-Blueprints that looks like they will work. just check against the receiver and see if things will match up.
  15. The shop I work for has just received an 80% receiver for the M1A1 after close to 18 months wait. Can any one direct me to a site/book/ person that could provide the receiver drawings. This is the first time I have been given the task on the Thompson, have done other guns just not the Thompson. It is being built on a Class 2 Manufacturer's Class 3 dealer license. i live in central Arizona. Be most happy to answer any questions you may have
