  1. I saw an unrelated shotgun stock and forearm for sale on eBay, but the box caught my eye. Looks like SILE was Italian and imported into NY. Thought others may find the box interesting. Tried to find a good thread that mentioned the SILE marked forearms. Ron
  2. I’ll text the site owner. Not sure if there is, but I think so. Ron
  3. Hey Frank. It’s the M6 that’s listed in these.
  4. Here’s an example of Federal Labs blacking out their catalog to make changes. This was the note the move from Pittsburgh to Saltsburg. Black out the Pittsburgh address and add the new one. These are later than the move away from Exclusive Distributor of the Thompson, but one does include “fully reconditioned” Thompsons. The Ingram is the main submachine gun offered for sale in the three versions I have of these. older catalog on left, newer Saltsburg catalog on right with blacked out address. Ron
  5. If it’s verdigris (oxidation on brass) usually in contact with leather, you can use a mild acid like lemon juice or vinegar and carefully clean it away. Cotton swabs and being careful not to get the juice all over, basically spot cleaning. Ron
  6. Pitfighter, Yes it’s full auto. It’s a handful, but not to the point of uncontrollable. A solid subgun stance and you can drop a 30 round mag. Not one to hand to a newby, but not as bad as some other subguns/machinepistols. I’d say totally useless as a law enforcement weapon, except intimidation factor maybe. Wouldn’t be my choice!! Ron
  7. I should add that mine was carried a chief of police in his squad car. He’s the one who converted and registered it as well. The left side has a shortened leather sling used as a strap to stabilize. Ron
  8. Here’s a similar shot with my Enforcer. They did come out in the early 60s from Universal. I think it’s possible it could be an Enforcer, but possible has something added to the muzzle end. Could that be the bent end? I’m not sure when the front pistol grip came out on the Enforcer. Mine is an M2 conversion so the barrel just sticks out past the end cap on mine. Ron
  9. That’s awful news. Phil was a great guy and I enjoyed the talks we had at NRA shows. Ron
  10. In Michigan, we have the highest standards in news reporting 🙄 I still remember the TV news story about a plane crash near Louisville, Ky that was loaded with machine guns as a potential terrorist plot. Later the retracted the story and commented about the Knob Creek shoot that weekend. Ron
  11. David is available and will get back to you if you sent a PM, however like most people, he has a full time life outside of monitoring the boards. If you want to sell instantly, there’s other sites geared for selling items. If you wish to sell on here, give him some time to respond, he will get back to you. Yes, you are more than welcome to post to learn, but if you wish to sell on here, give him time to respond. I’ve also seen where people will drop in once, ask for pricing suggestions and to learn all about their stuff from the experts of that subject, then go list on gunbroker usually at an even more inflated price. That’s pretty annoying, but just my opinion. Ron
  12. Just torque. You’d need a properly fitting barrel vise and fixture to hold the receiver nose. Do not use a regular vise or any type of pliers/pipe wrench. It’s better to be loose and/or non aligning than to bugger stuff up. Ron
  13. Those are Winchester hook style sling swivels. The sling was likely used for something else at the time. I have a Winchester model 10SL with them, but they were widely used on all sorts of sporting arms. Ron
  14. Darryl, great to hear from you again. I’m so sorry to hear about your wife and all the life changes. It really causes us to step back and re-evaluate the “stuff” we gather. Ron
  15. WD is War Department and the broad arrow is an acceptance stamp for the British military.
  16. Karl, I can look when I get home. If you don’t hear from me by mid next week, shoot me a PM to remind me. I have the Springfield manuals on CD, but often the serial numbers are not listed. It’s a like a jackpot if you do get an actual match on a specific serial number as to which unit it was issued to. Ron
  17. lol, yes I thought it could be fun to have a place to talk about the early stuff and leading up to the machine gun. Also want to move over the digger content to this page. Ron
  18. I would rule out Detroit. Although they have marked guns DPD (I have a Glock) and have seen many revolvers either DPD or spelled out. My understanding is that they have their Thompsons and likely won’t leave, but I never thought St.Louis would sell and they did. Ron
  19. Likely influenced but the Autoburglar. The spur to help tame recoil flip. I love it! Great display! Ron
  20. Yes prices at the Show of Shows may tend to be a bit higher than local shows. It’s THE show for the most unique, hard to find items. There’s dealers from overseas that setup as well. It’s worth seeing and walking.
