  1. David, id be interested to know if your gun (or if you know on the others) have any markings from the prison system I’d engraved or numbering. I have a Winchester 07 marked Ark Pen and a Remington 81 Peace Officers Equipment Co gun engraved to Arkansas Pen. Just curious if you know of the Thompson are so marked Ron
  2. That is a tough one to find. Do you know what one you’re looking for? If not I can post from a book. I’ve seen one for sale before and get ready to pay a bit for one, but they’re out there. Even the Carcano folding bayonets bring a fair chunk of cash. Ron
  3. Lol yeah I was way off, needed more coffee!! ?
  4. You are doing the widow, a disservice by not educating yourself which it seems you were doing by coming here. If you two can find the registration paperwork she could likely transfer and sell it for somewhere north of $10,000. If it’s not registered it’s destined to be destroyed. walking into ATF will get it destroyed regardless of if it’s registered because you’re not the owner and you’re in possession. They won’t look it up and hand it back to you. There’s far more knowledge on this board about NFA than anywhere else in the world, including gunsmiths and machine gun rental places. Ron
  5. Thanks Hans, that was what I was wondering. Also I believe the replacement MPI 69 could utilize Uzi mags as much of that development was inspired from the Uzi. All good stuff Ron
  6. I know, right! I was kinda thinking maybe for the MPI69, but the date stamped in my pouch does not really align with that, at least not if adopted in 69. Any idea what the Austrians used prior to the MPI69? Ron
  7. I have doubts on German manufacture as there are no apparent maker marks or stamps and typically they were good about marking items, especially considering the condition of my pouch. Yes my pouch could be reissued and the stamp applied as such, but I doubt it. I’m not trying to make a square peg fit into a round hole. I do believe it’s European for a subgun, beyond that I have no evidence of anything further. If someone can identify with proof, it would be great to know what these are. Ron
  8. Here’s pics of one of my pouches. 25rd Uzi mags fit perfectly also. No idea what it’s for, but I am doubtful it’s German for the MP18. I have a similar impression on the back, doubt it’s a waffenampt though. Ron
  9. I’d love to know what the pouches are for sure. I was told European country for the UZI. I have a nice one marked GBA 1965. Numrich is always crafty with their wording. Ron
  10. Yeah to be honest I was worried when I saw this post at first ?
  11. Using PayPal on items they deem scary in their terms is NOT personal opinion. One company I do business with found out how PayPal can lock your assets if their services are being used for firearm related purchases. If interested, read here below. I get your point to protect yourself, but it’s a risk to be aware of for buyers and sellers. Also buyers can easily scam with PayPal. You get your item from me, claim it’s “not as described” and file a claim. 99% of the time PayPal sides with buyers to protect their platform, they even explain this on their site. https://www.advanceguardmilitaria.com/NewsDetail.aspx?NewsID=200 Ron
  12. One was just listed and sold at Morphy’s I think it was (maybe these are the same pics) https://auctions.morphyauctions.com/LotDetail.aspx?inventoryid=551680 Ron
  13. To expand a little further, yes the mags will hold ammo. I have seen someone using one of these at a shoot once in a live gun, on accident. They are not sturdy enough to be reliable for any hard use. There are several tell tale signs of the Model Gun Corp mags. Ron
  14. The last part (a hammer) is not for a Thompson nor an MGC Thompson. It may be off an 1894 Daisy Winchester look alike BB gun, but it’s been a while since I had one apart. Probably for some airgun or toy
  15. David, Let me be the first in here to say congratulations!! I know this has been a long journey and I look forward to seeing the final product!! Should be here Friday Ron
  16. There’s one on gunbroker. A little pricy IMHO, but if you need one…
  17. I hadn’t heard this or that Mike was having health issues. Mike was an amazing guy and I’ll aways remember all the Thompson memories with him Way too young ?. Rest In Peace my friend
  18. David and Andy, thank you both for all your efforts here and on Sturm! Looking great and I’m sure took way more hours than we can imagine Hey we get apostrophes now too!! Ron
  19. Last call before I move it elsewhere. These are far more difficult to find than the WWII manuals Ron
  20. Auction houses would likely say the same thing. Great story, but this could easily be a $35 dewat the owner bought in the 50s. Theres NOTHING to substantiate their sellers tall tale. Ron
  21. Hopefully this will be more in line with your expectations of an acceptable reply. If Im allowed to ask what makes it American issued (unless its Remington or Westinghouse manufacture, which I could potentially understand)?
  22. Bob, I feel S&B runs amazing in Tommies. Its my favorite! One year I got a decent deal on a case of Fiocchi. It was ok, but I felt not as hot and reliable as the S&B. Ive not done a side by side comparison, but would love to put some data to this theory, of course burn rate and other variables play into the equation more than just velocity. Id certainly try other ammo in known good mags before condemning GI parts. Not to say theres not a chance (I think of Recon Bobs off center Actuator I think it was he that ran into that one and posted). Ron
