  1. Here is another techinical question regarding registering SBR in Michigan...despite the length...everyone agrees that certain C&R guns need to be registered as or similiar to pistols in Michigan. Before I had my SOT...I had C&R guns and did register them according. My question is...how the heck do you unregister them if you sell them outside of Michigan on a C&R. With a non C&R gun....you would need a purchase permit or CCW to sell to another individual in Michigan...if you sold outside of Michigan..it would go through an FFL....both which would notify the State that you no longer own that given gun. But when a NFA C&R gun is transferred direct out of state to another C&R...do you write a letter to the state notifying them?
  2. Rather than fighting about 26 & 30" rules....lets get together a shoot in Michigan. I am in Kalamazoo...but will go anywhere in Michigan if we can set something up. FWIW....there is a pin shoot in Holland on Saturday at Tulip City Gun Club. We have been doing it 3x each winter for years and have a pretty good size subgun group...maybe 12-14 shooters with NFA subguns. Email if you want info on the shoot this Saturday. scott@pdguns Scott FFL/SOT
  3. Under glass would be fine with me also. However, worst case is the gun sits in the basement vault at the PD for another few years and the next Chief destroys the gun and parts. On the bright side, at least the parts kit will be able to be circulated among collectors now. It is not the NJ gun. I will email Gordon the serial number and whatever history the Department has.
  4. Yes, absolutely sure. The Department requested the status from the ATF and received a very detailed response which I reviewed, it is clear that it is not a transferrable or presample. And yes, it is a shame.
  5. A local PD has an non transferrable Colt 1921 in very very nice condition. The Chief says it needs to be cut up and sold. Any idea on the realistic value of a cut up Colt 1921. The PD also has a few other items....a canvas thompson gun case, H&R mags, mint mag carrier, and a old stained original owners manual. Any help on approximate values would be appreciated. Its a shame the gun is going to end up in pieces, but the Chief says no to a museum and needs help rounding off his budget for new equipment. Thanks. Scott
  6. I am selling a nice Crosby Drum to a friend. The drum has been refinished, but is in excellent condition. Not looking to gouge or give it away...just a fair price range. Thanks for you help.
