  1. Does one of those jeeps cost more or less then a WW2 M1 Thompson? The Jeep is (a little) less than the Thompson. A nice running and driving restored WWII Jeep can be had for $15,000 to $25,000.
  2. What did you find an MB or a Ford and what year?41 MB slat grill. (I also have a 52 M38a1 and sold my 42 GPW basket case to make room for the 41)
  3. I pick this up along with a World War II jeep I purchased. It appears to have a mechanism for extraction and ejection but the magazine is not functional and the barrel is completely blocked. The fire control mechanism seems to function as would a real Thompson. Does anyone know if these were meant to cycle some type of dummy ammunition? (Sorry No pics. Im getting a size limit of 14.77k and my phone cant make them that small)
  4. Thanks. I saw them, just wanted to hear exactly what you said. I like dealing with good people.
  5. I have an FFL/SOT and LE demo letter in-process. Does anyone have a recommended source for a Colt M4 Commando 11.5?
  6. Try slow hot bluing. Slow but not difficult and the results are awesome.
  7. Blish Lock? Or, did that already ship with the gun?It was shipped with a WWII Blish, and the original was sent with the other original parts. Given the time and effort it would take to track down original parts I insured it for enough to make certain the buyer was protected. Original Parts, Repro FBI case, two colt era L drums, four XX magazines, cleaning rod, Oiler. Insured for $15,000 and sent registered mail. Probably enough to replace them quickly without spending years searching for better deals
  8. Thanks for the kind words. I am a believer in letting the pictures tell the story. Id hate to interpret a gun one way and have a buyer interpret it differently.
  9. Update, thanks, and question: The 1921 has sold. Thank you for all the support. Question: We transferred it to the buyers dealer for a 7 day inspection and decided with the buyer to send it with the shooter 1928 bolt, actuator, and recoil assembly.(just Incase someone couldnt resist giving it run) Now that the buyer has accepted it, I am shipping him the original 1921 parts. What amount would you insure the original 1921 bolt, actuator, and recoil assembly for? (It will being going registered mail usps insure for a bunch)
  10. The auction has bids, so it can not be ended and/or changed at this point. Whenever there is an error in the initial listing on our auctions the high bidder is given the option to cancel the order. These likely will go in medium flat rate that cost $15.05 plus we pay for packing materials and insurance if needed, so we round up a couple dollars so we can give customers a known fixed price before they bid.We get excellent feedback from our customers, but when selling many hundreds of items we sometimes make a mistake. We only want happy customers, so we will always work with customers to correct any error. -Ray
  11. Sorry I didnt personally write the description on the grips. I added a note to that auction. I did do the listing on the Colt Thompson and I believe it is completely accurate, but I welcome any feedback or questions. It is a nice correct Colt.
  12. For comparison here is a link to an all correct Colt Thompson 80-85% condition available with accessories for $35,000 http://www.machinegunboards.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=23854&view=&hl=&fromsearch=1
  13. My trust is written with a clause that automatically removes any trustee that becomes under firearms disability the moment it is not legal for them to be a trustee, they are not a trustee. This is why you use a real lawyer with NFA knowledge, not a boilerplate trust. They would actually have to have the firearm and be under disability, and even so it would impact only them and the firearm in their possession since they would have no status as a trustee. -Ray
  14. FYI that screw was the hardest part of the rewat. They removed the screw and filled the hole with a welder, welding the barrel to the receiver. Ended up with a 3/8 hole in the receiver that had to be filled with a tig welder after making a brass backer, then hand filing, drilling and tapping. I also have a really nice custom boring bar made to cut out the welded in breach bushing. -Ray
  15. Thanks, Ill probably just keep it as-is, maybe trade the mags off to someone at some point. That box looks awesome. Yes the screw is just a temporary thing till I track down something closer to correct. -Ray
  16. Still some finishing touches I need to complete after the rewat.
  17. I agree I will keep the original MP18 configuration, just thought it might be fun to sometimes switch over and try the MP28 configuration. My MP18 is a rewat with a heavily polished reblue, so not too worried about a scratch or two converting it. I was thinking the conversion would just be swapping the mag well which I had off several times during the rewat process. I am also thinking I will bead blast and slow rust blue at some point to try to get a more dull blue original looking finish
  18. My MP18 uses luger snail drums. Ive heard people mention MP18 box magazines, but It wasnt clear to me if those were just Mp18 marked guns that were converted to MP28. Anyone have details on n MP18 that used box magazines?
  19. I still have this 1921AC available. Since I already have a Colt 1921A and an M1A1, I might be tempted into a trade for a nice WWII 1928A1 and some cash or other guns. If you always wanted a legit correct Colt and you have a spare 1928A1 in your collection, we should talk. The 1921AC is in Ohio ready to transfer on Form 3 or Form 4.
