Go to the Creek at least once a year.
  2. Thanks for the info guys, I thought these prices were tot high, but then, I only paid $475 for my first M1A1 Thompson back in the '70s. Didn't know current market on these, prices seem to jump over night sometimes. Thanks again for the input. Bill Z.
  3. Found a local pawn shop that has an "L" and a "C" drum for sale, both are Auto Ord. , New York marked. "L" drum is about 98% and "C" drum is about 80%. He's asking $800 and $1700. Are these decent prices? Last drum I bought was in 1984. Whats the market like on these now? Appreciate any advice you can give me. Bill Z.
  4. Thanks for the warm welcome. I live outside of St. Augustine, Florida and am a member of the MVPA. I'll try and post some pictures of my toys.
  5. I went to the Beltring, "War and Peace" show in Kent, England in July this year and of the 100 or so 28 and 28A1 Thompsons laying around for sale (all Brit dewat, of course) the ones with vertical fore grips all mounted the slings on the right side, one guy had THE Thompson used in the MOD (Ministry of Defense) Manual for the Thompson for the Brit army on display - 3 digit serial number '28, cut and welded all to hell, enough to make you cry. Same guy had a dewat FG 42 on display. M3scout
  6. Hi everyone, I've been lurking about the forum for quite awhile, decided to finally jump in and join. I'm a semi-retired class III dealer, started in the early 70's. Now mostly into collecting WW II stuff, vehicles, cannons, etc. Wanted to put a good word in for Merle, the drum doctor. I had found a 39-rd drum at a gun show that had the locking rails ground off, got it for $10. Sent it in to Merle, just got it back, it's like brand new and just purrs through my '28. Also own an M1A1, and a bunch of other NFA toys. My new passion is my restored M3A1 armored Scout Car. M3scout
