  1. Wow, thanks you guys! I appreciate the info. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/woot.gif
  2. I got it about 15 years ago from a collector friend. He got it from a retired U.S. Army Major who he said brought it into the states after the war as a war trophy. It is in very fine condition, and I have only fired it a few times due to the hassle of cleaning a gun that shoots corrosive ammo.
  3. Thanks for the info. This one is 505n. Did they make 10,000 then go back and suffix like they did with Lugers?
  4. Richard, looks like COS, qlv, eagle with 280 under and a couple other eagles. Where are you in MI? I'm in MI too. 40 miles north of Grand Rapids. Thanks for your help. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v19/hawkey/class%203%20weapons/mp44markings.jpg http://img.photobucket
  5. I'm confused as to how to determine who the prime contractor was for MP44's. I do know this is one fine original C&R gun, matching. Who knows what the contractors were and how to tell. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v19/hawkey/class%203%20weapons/mp44b.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v19/hawkey/class%203%20weapons/mp44d.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v19/hawkey/class%203%20weapons/mp44c.jpg
  6. Shaffer, I have an early AYF41 transitional gun with the hook bolt handle and I love it. It's a matter of choice I guess. I have a push/pull handle bolt I use when I shoot. Gun is all matching C&R I bought in the early 90's for $2300. It was real rough, had Andruzski refinish it. Now looks like it just came from the factory. Some would not have done that, but I did and I'm very happy with it. I've been away from here for a while with some major medical shit. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v19/hawkey/class%203%20weapons/mp40aa.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v19/hawkey/class%203%20weapons/mp40e1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v19/hawkey/class%203%20weapons/mp40d1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v19/hawkey/class%203%20weapons/mp40c1.jpg
  7. Not sure, but is the disconnector disengaging the sear properly? I've got a bunch of M1's, but no M2's. Good Luck http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v19/hawkey/Image002aa1.jpg
  8. been a while since I checked in here. glad you got the sights staked solidly. any more problems with them?
  9. Adjustable rear sights were staked in place. You can try to tighten it up by taking a punch and re-staking. This deforms the dovetail slightly to crimp it in so the sight can't move. Otherwise you could try some lock-tite under the base and see if that helps.
  10. Most likely a milled type 2 adjustable marked PI on the right side.
  11. any of the 8mm stripper will work. I've used even the Turkish ones with my loader.
  12. LSU Tiger, I would imagine you hunt your Gordon, what's he good on. I'm into Pats, Woodcock, and Pheasant up here. 20 gauge side by side.
  13. Nice Gordon Setter LSU Tiger, I have a close friend who has one. They are super dogs! If I had not had Brittanies for so long, I'd consider a Gordon for sure!
  14. melior mortuus quam rutilus..........better dead than red
  15. In case you want to know, the first part of my first post says: If catapults are outlawed only outlaws will have catapults.
  16. Cum catapultae proscriptae erunt tum soli proscript catapultas habebunt!! In the mean time I think I'll.... Cogito sumere potum alterum!
  17. Thanks Lionhart, I signed it via email also. Everyone on the board should do the same.
  18. awful tight fit for a 28 in my opinion. I think they were designed for the M1 They don't zip right with a 28 inside.
