That's what I was afraid of. When tucking in hard to the shoulder it will collapse if not pulled perfectly straight back. Thanks for the info.

Pity my ignorance but I bought a repro M1A1 folder a few years ago . It seems well made but the stock does not have a way of locking in the open position. Were they held open by friction alone or am I missing a secret locking mechanism? Thanks for your time and trouble.

The leather mag pouch shown looks suspiciously like the pouch that came with my M45 Gustav or Swedish K. It was a cool pouch that held 8 mags, the clip on night sights, and cleaning kit. I never tried it with Thompson mags. The K mags are 36 round so a Thompson mag might fit.

This has probably been covered before, but I was visiting with a WW II/Korea era veteran armorer. He told me that the M1A1 and 1928 lower receivers were interchangable and that he used to swap them to allow the M1A1 to have a removable buttstock. Since I only have a M1A1 and my buddy with the 1928 moved away I have no way to check this out. I have looked on the FAQ and other sources but cannot confirm or disprove this. Will a 1928 lower with the removable stock work on my M1A1? Thanks for your time and trouble
