  1. Internation Military Antiquities www.ima-usa.com has just posted M3 part sets for $395.00. Old Doug
  2. Need M3 barrel and bolt. Can use M3-A1 barrel and collar. Thanks Old Doug
  3. Bob, I love my MG-42 more than my Thompsons. 1200-1400 RPM and what a roaring, fire breathing machine. I have a 28Navy and a Savage Brit US1928A1. My 42 is an early CRA43 7xxxa with horizontal cocking handle and MG-34 bipod catch. The beautiful, time honored TSMG was outclassed (I will never say a Thompson is obsolete) by technology before WWII. The MG-42 (MG3) is still a front line weapons system. Interestingly, the 21's and 28N are holding their own price wise with similar quality MG-42's. I am not going to give up either. old Doug
  4. Doug Olfinger builds/has built some of the best sideplate 1917/1919 type Browning guns available. He is perhaps one of the greatest resources to our NFA community and the large number of plates and STEn tubes he built have been a real blessing. He is selling sideplates and the quality of finished guns will depend on who is building them in the future. I have owned a DLO and own a Saginaw now. Good friend owns the DLO now and we shoot both in 06, 308 and 8mm. Friend just bought a C&R MG40 (Commercial ANM2 30 cal) form Doug O. Remember, these DLOs were selling for less than $2000.00 just 10 years ago. $7500.00 two years ago and now $11000.00 +. They work. If for same reason they don't, they can be made to work. 5. Bruce. there is a pinned collar holding the stock catch (release/retainer spindle) and spring in place. If the spring has broken or collapsed, you can remove the pin and collar and replace the spring. If the round contour of the stock catch spindle or the collar that also engages the stock is worn down, you can replace or build up the contour to hold the stock. I have seen a bent stock catch shaft. Also observed a M3-A1 stock that had notches cut out of spec. The rods were parallel and at right angles to the butt section, but the detents for the stock latch were out of line by almost .25" and caused the stock to slip. Hope this helps. Doug Hollberg
