All, Forgive me if I have posted this in the wrong location, as I'm new to this board and this is my first post. With Dave's permission, I have inherited and have for sale an original Thompson spare parts kit, complete with spare parts, pull through thong and brush. Friend and fellow member, Sandman1957, has examined it and everything is correct. Obviously, there's a lot of knowledgeable collectors on this site so please examine the photo's thoroughly for yourself. After researching the rarity of this kit and a few past sales of similar condition, I'm asking $5,000, obo. Pictures are attached. My contact information is below. Thanks, Jim Marsal Greenville, NC 252-378-5184 marsal2424@hotmail.com Auto-What?

Presenting the Indianapolis Ordnance BFONG. I'll leave it to others to judge the merits of this piece. I will say it is a big bite assembly wise for someone like me who hasn't done drilling, pinning or riveting small pieces. I will send an email to Indy Ord. I got a set of barrel plugs to 'tune' the gun. In the documentation there is also instructions for tuning via a set screw near the chamber that is marked 'tune' I think. Also attaching the NFA letter. The Indy patent number is clearly visible in the NFA letter which has some diagrams and description of operation. The post uploader wouldn't allow me to attach more than 5 images AtfletterindianapolisCOMPLETE.pdf

Hello, I am putting this back up now that I have more information on it. I have cleaned all the Cosmoline off of it and now realize it is a used barrel and was installed previously on a gun. I am selling it as-is and I looked it over thoroughly and the bore is in perfect condition and shows really little to no sign of wear on it. It has the "P" for the proof mark on it with the center of the P punched out. It also has the alignment mark on it. It has 29 fins and also the wear mark on the 21st fin. I am asking $400.00 or best offer on it. Buyer pays 3% fee as well as shipping. For new users to the board I will only accept USPS Money Order. See the pictures below: Please send me a pm if you are interested. Thank you. SOLD

Up for sale/trade is an original 1928A1 Thompson marked US MODEL OF 1928A1. Features British markings (nitro proof marks, etc.). Also features the TOMMY GUN marking on top of receiver, typical Cutts compensator, finned barrel and Lyman sight. Serial numbers of upper receiver and lower match. Appears all original to me. In addition to the attached photos, I have included a Dropbox link with higher resolution versions of the photos for you to see. Also an imgur link with the photos. I have owned this since 2008 and it’s always been safe kept. I enjoy shooting it but would like to move it along and get a wartime M1A1 or M1 (not a West Hurley gun). The price is $35,000 (including shipping) to buy it outright. I also would be interested in a trade for an original wartime M1A1 or M1. I would need additional cash from you if you would like to trade. I am in Florida. I am an individual, not a dealer. Please let me know if I can answer any questions. I am happy to talk on the phone also. Here is the dropbox link (photos should be higher resolution here): https://www.dropbox.com/sh/u9oj31ywiupsgas/AABU7selhQmwv0dJkWB5quD1a?dl=0 Here is the imgur link: https://imgur.com/a/GZLexar#ArgShmc Thanks for your time! —bigu2fan willgreenlee@yahoo.com

I have a box of Thompson parts and have had a bunch of trouble with the ID on, who made them, and what they are worth. Hate to sell off my dads old parts but its tough times and I'm not to opening the safe just yet! Knowing him he had them from before there where repros, so I have no idea. One barrel is clearly demilled and the other looks new unused along with a comp. Any help would be huge, other then shooting them I just don't know enough about them to even pretend to have an idea. Thanks!

Hello everyone, I was looking to ease my mind on a particular TSMG that I was looking to add to my collection. I am more of a shotgun collector, but this item caught my attention, that would make a good candidate to add to my collection. There were a few things that I wasn't convinced about, but after my pending membership was approved, I was able to find more information on the forum. Now only one question remains. If you look at the left side of the receiver, it states the "model of 1928". The thing that I noticed is that the part "of 1928" is recessed. It almost looks like part of the model year was milled down to add another designation. Is this common in other firearms, or was the designation rolled in with to much force? This may be a stupid question, but hey, my knowledge is more with the shotguns. As you can see in the pictures, further markings are similar to the guns that have been discussed before within the same 41.000 range of serial numbers. I forgot to take more pictures than the ones attached.

Fellow Collectors, I like to see high prices for sales so we can feel that our collections are going up in value.. Lately the market seems soft . A 1928AC just sold for 17K. This variation was sold to law enforcement and generally are in a lot better condition than WW2 military guns and ,makes for a good shooter. I apologize for the wrong pics yesterdayThis is the 1928AC sold yesterdayThey were 1928s that were assembled mid WW2 out of parts left overas Auto ordnance transitioned to the M1 and M1a1.These guns went to police departments

Hi Everyone, I keep having problems the more I play with TSMG's!! This time I have a Very early Savage 1928 serial 17000 range that has the pilot with no hole, I thought it would be clever to put the original in a bag label it and replace with a pilot with the hole, However everytime I capture the spring. remove the piece thats holding it, then move the bolt to the rear before letting it go forward, the spring bends as you see in the picture.. any suggestions? Thanks!

Bought this at a auction of a local vet. It looks like an unmarked Russo case. It has obviously seen some hard use, if it could talk. This came in a box with some other stuff that I wanted for my M1. Any idea what its worth. It has a battle field affected repair on the flap with a steel probably foreign replacement pin. I had it looked at by a local guy that authenticated that and several other items but he would not give a price as he had only every seen one, the one he was holding. There is numbers under the flap that correspond to something, gun?,motorcycle?GI?. The bag is approximately 24” long. Just trying to get a ballpark value.

I started a project to convert a new semi Kahr/AO 1927 to a 1928 look alike. I am going to do the SBR paperwork for the short bbl and have a GI mag catch and select fire/bolt stop switch added. I am going to add an original grip mount so it will take GI furniture up front. I will also swap out the Kahr removable stock with and original GI that has the oiler compartment. I have been considering adding an original Lyman sight also. How close are the standard Kahr/AO sights on the new 1927 compared to an original Lyman? Are new sights bad enough to warrant the expense of an original Lyman? Thanks, TC

So I shot my '28 and my m1 a ton the other weekend to total of 500 rds in one range session alternating guns. I gotta say the '28 was wayyyyy smoother to the point where I am mildly disappointed in owning my m1, kinda wanna sell it to buy a different MG. My '28 has a repro 1921a (no compensator) barrel so the barrels are the same with the exception of the fins, so i feel it's a pretty fair comparison. The m1 just felt choppier and I could feel it "bottoming out" against the back of the receiver, saving grace for the m1 the sights are way better but to me that's it for now. Anyone else who owns/shot both extensively feel the same away about the recoil impulse? Not talking about historical significance, rate of fire, blah blah blah

I would like to give a tip of the cap to one of our great members, Sandman1957, for paying great service to the colt thompson. Not many current videos demonstrate the difference between the rates of fire of the 1921 and 1928. Did a brief history, overview and some shooting. I am proud to own a few of these bad boys now and honored to be his friend. Enjoy! Beat Army, Beau PS - Sandman has three more videos coming out on some more cool things in his collection.

I think we can all agree that field stripping an m1 (vs an 1928) is wayyyyy easier because the recoil guide rod comes out the back of the receiver. Has anyone modded there parts or dare I say their receiver in their 1928 pattern gun to get this for easy cleaning? Or is what I'm saying completely crazy and absolute heresy? Both my m1 and 1928 are in NFA jail, otherwise I would tempted to try those m1 parts in my 1928 lol but they will never be more than shooters. And I intend to shoot the piss out of them. I know they both use the same spring. Thanks!
