New Sa Mg42

I was finally able to get to the range and fire my new BRP MG42. After a removing a small burr on the sear it ran great. All the other guys at the range were really impressed with the gun and the rate of fire I was able to obtain with the lever on the tripod. I estimated that the rate of fire was in the 400-500 rds per minute. It is not what the FA rate is, but this gun does not cost the same as a FA either. Great fun and very impressive!! Here is a photo of the gun and tripod before going to the range.

Yea, the SA MG42 is not as fast as the original, but I can't afford the real gun when they are going for $25-30K. The SA will take care of me and have fun with it.

I began to have a few feed problems with the gun, and Brian at BRP Guns is taking care of it. BRP has some of the best customer sevice going. He will check everything out and make any adjustments needed. This gun is my favorite of all I own. It is also fun to take it to the range and let all the other folks see the gun mounted on the Lefeytte Tripod; they are really impressed when you tap the handle fast.

If anyone is considering this gun, give Brian a call at BRP Corp, he is always there to help you out!

DARIVS ARCHITECTVS,

Oh yea, I forgot to mention in my previous post that I did enjoy your website and the videos, they are great! I would sure like to be into WWII reenacting, but the closest German Unit is about 180 miles from me. Also, I travel a good bit and that keeps me from any reeinacting. Great Website!!!

Glad you liked the site. It was fun to make (especially the videos). The guys I have met from German WWII reenacting didn't seem all that interested in having another MG-42 gunner join their group. They also seem rather bored with the reenactment activity too. I found that strange. Maybe they have done it for too long and are bored. Medieval reenactors in comparison are much more interesting, outgoing, and friendly.
