Not necessarily, the tester wanted to do a worst case scenario to avoid all the "yes but" and "what if"critics. I think he more than accomplised that mission.

That is quite a test. the vfw or the American Legion magazine had just such an article about the troops

 

were unhappy with the carbine just for the reason mentioned.
