Marksmg58
Hi, new to this board, and a fairly new Beretta enthusiast. I'm right now building a look-alike BM59 from an M1a, and I'm looking for a BM59 buttplate assembly. Does anyone here have one to sell or know of a good source ?(both Reese Surplus and Andy Francesco currently sold out)...thanks in advance for your help. bm59collector
Since Andy & Reese didn't have the butt plate, might I suggest the following. place a WTB (want to buy) at some of the following sites http://www.berettaforum.net/ (will require registration) http://www.sturmgewehr.com WTB under parts and accessories http://www.subguns.com/boards/ under non NFA parts and E-Bay - stocks are legal and I found a spare butt plate on a stock 2 years ago out of Louisiana - removed the hardware and cleaned up the stock and sold it for about what I paid for it. Others will probably chime in with some sites that I missed There are 2 types of butt plates - one with the fold-up shoulder rest (very hard to find) and the regular rubber butt plate (easier to find) I wish you luck, there is another individual in Italy selling BM59 parts, but I have never done business with him & don't have his e-mail address. Marksmg58
Art, thank you for all the great information. I hadn't even thought about ebay, although I have found some surprising Thompson parts and accessories there. I will try Sturmgewehr and the other sites you suggested. Of course if anyone finds an extra they don't need I will pay a fair price. I'm in no hurry, may just put a Garand plate on temporarily. Thanks again. mikebaker1129
Which type are you looking for the flip up type or the regular ? I will take a look at my spare parts and see what I have laying around .
Marksmg58
I would prefer the flip-up style, but would take the conventional style as well...thank you.
