dalbert
All, A few months ago, I acquired a British Sten manual that I have not seen referenced anywhere on the subject. I believe this is a scarce manual. The manual was published by the British Air Ministry in May, 1942, and has some information I will publish on this board that may be useful to Sten owners. The parts diagrams inside are very good, and it also include some relevant inspection information. This manual pre-dates the August, 1942 Small Arms Training Manual for the Sten. It is titled, "Provisional Armament Publication No. 35, Sten 9mm. Machine Carbine. MK. II, General description and instructions for use. Instructions for dismantling, assembling, testing, and maintenance." Here is a picture of the cover of the manual: http://www.sturmgewehr.com/dalbert/MGBoards/AirMinManual_Web.JPG I'm going to add the parts diagrams from within this manual to the Sten reference pinned post. Another section that I found interesting and relevant to folks on this board is "Operations after approximately 2500 rounds have been fired," which I also plan to add to the reference pinned post. MyMalteseFalcon
Hey, this sounds great. Very much interested in what that manual offers. I have an original Sten home guard manual, printed '42, got in on eBay from a guy in England and yes its original. But my manual does not have anything regarding the operation of a Sten after 2500 rounds. Does it mention what components wear out and or need changing? Pls post this and any other diagrams that you can, as my sons and I really love the Sten and are planing on a legal semi-auto Sten family build. Looking forward to reading what you can post....
