Mike-Tornado Technologies
The following belts in my collection were purported to be U.S Military WWI cartridge belts. That been said I am yet to find any pictures or reference books showing these belts. One has the standard military style buckle, whilst the other has no buckle at all. Can any one shed any light on these items. thanks http://www.tornado-technologies.com/GB/SCB1_1.jpg http://www.tornado-technologies.com/GB/SCB1_2.jpg http://www.tornado-technologies.com/GB/SCB1_3.jpg http://www.tornado-technologies.com/GB/SCB2_1.jpg http://www.tornado-technologies.com/GB/SCB2_2.jpg http://www.tornado-technologies.com/GB/SCB2_3.jpg
dalbert
Mike, I've posted about this here previously, and there has also been discussion on the U.S. Militaria forum. The concensus is that these were probably used by U.S. military personnel in an unofficial capacity, but as of yet, there have been no photos or documents to support this theory. There is a belt of mine, just like yours, featured in the Combat Shotguns reference post at the top of this page. There is also a similar belt that was used by the Navy for the 10 gauge Very Signal Pistol. Previous post on subject: http://www.machinegunboards.com/forums/ind...showtopic=12312 I'd love to find photos of these in military use, as would many others. They are variants of Mills belts that have been around since the 1880's. David Albert dalbert@sturmgewehr.com
Mike-Tornado Technologies
Some how I managed to miss your reference post - there's some great info in there. Both of mine, like yours have the two black lines and are closed on the ends. Any idea if the first belt is original to the mills pattern? Seems strange not having a buckle. Feel free to add them to the reference post. Mike, I've posted about this here previously, and there has also been discussion on the U.S. Militaria forum.
