OCM
My recent review of FBI documents regarding the shootout in Jan. '35 between the Bureau and "Ma" Barker and son, Fred has led to the finding of several documents that will be of interest in answering some questions. I've also obtained the statements of Agents Charles Winstead and "Doc" White who were present and have posted them at our site to alleviate the many questions that surfaced from many regarding their role that day, weapons carried, etc. For some interesting Sunday afternoon reading, stop by our site here and read more about the incident. http://historicalgmen.squarespace.com/fbi-shooting-fred-kate-ma-b/ EnjoyLarry WackRetired SA, FBI (68-03)

ghostsoldier
Thanks, Sandy...that is some good reading! I hadn't been to Larry's site since he added this info....excellent stuff. And to think....last year, when I went to see the cottage, and according to the map, I was trodding the ground where Winstead stood, out by U.S. 41 (there are "No Trespassing" signs everywhere)!
