Jack_Bauer
I am looking at purchasing an M60 and I have a few questions. Is Rock Island Arsenal considered a good manufacturer of the M60? Has anyone heard of Crane Engineering doing updating and refurbishing on M60's and how is their work?
Sixty Gunner
RIA are ok for "civilian blaster-grade" guns but they're basically reverse-engineered copies of a real sixty, like most of the other non-military-contract manufacturers out there. However, if you get an M60--any M60--Desert Ordnance (the civilian-sales side of US ordnance, the MK43 people) will rebuild your gun to proper spec in about a week. They turned my old shot-out Charles erb gun into an as-new MK-43 complete with a warranty for less than the cost of a cheap 9mm subgun. They'll fix whatever ails any M60 you happen to buy.
