Do you know if John Henwood is still around ? I heard he was dead, then one of the posters says he's alive ? I talked to him back in the late 90s. I think he was the one that got to take the Dillinger Winchesters apart there in Tucson and inspect what Lebman had done to them. I wish the hell I would of listened better-

OCM,

To be honest I had never heard of Henwood until I copied the above link, which dates back to 2009.

Apparently he was alive in 2009.

All searches to find a copy of his book, "The Forgotten Winchesters, ended with a dead end.

I plan on taking my 351 to a steel plate shoot this Sunday. If I can find someone to film a decent video , I'll post it here for your viewing pleasure.

Did you go by Johnl on some of the other sites??

Me too.

Not sure what you mean go by Johnl on other sites- I did check out a lot of the stuff on the link you sent, that's where the guy mentioned he was still alive.

John had contacted me back in the 90s on Dillinger stuff and sent me the book. I think he was in law enforcement at the time and was able to get inside the Lebman 07s.

From his book; " it was capable of shooting up the canvas topped autos of the day, but was not sufficiently powerful enough tp penetrate four or five walls in an apartment house. Thus the cops could use it on the robbers without worring too much about the citizenry "

I have a tape also of me firing my 1918 BAR, Remington model 8 and my 07 with a pistol grip on front and the 10 rd magazine. It's on a VHS I believe, might be fun to mess with.
