This photo shows a woman placing all the parts into a Jig ready for welding, the IWM has lots of photos of the STEN being produced, most of the parts were made and assembled by women too, once trained, they were every bit as good as their male counterparts.

Great photos and thanks for all the helpful info too.

 

In looking at dalbert's new additions to the sten page, I realized that Northridge ripped me off on the cleaning rod I just received from them.

 

My rod does not have the slit at the end to put the cloth through, but looks like it was broken off just above the slit. There appears to be a sharp edge to one side like it was snapped off.
