jim c 351
Here are some photos of the south wall of the WW2 museum in Eldred , Pa.Pretty unique, wouldn't you agree.Paid the museum a visit this past Thursday. Try to visit once a year.I was disappointed with the director this year . I gave him a lead on a form 10 , M3 SMG, that could have been donated for $400.00. He couldn't come up with the money. Don't think he had very much imagineation. He could have traded one of 6 M1 carbines and had a M3.Jim C

The track itself is a M551 Sheridan, a calvary scout vehicle. It's main gun was a 152mm tube that fired a propellant cased conventional round or a Shilleleh missle. The recoil on the main gun was so vicious, it would buck the 2nd road wheel off the ground. Those that still exist are used as OPFOR tanks at the NTC, Ft Irwin and at the JRTC, Ft Polk. reichstall
Sorry Jim just seen this. The museum is in my back yard. they really try to do it right. I can understand why they didn't bite on the gun is because the price you paid to get in was nothing. they do fund raising and there are donations but less and less every year. The tank on the outside really grabs kids' attention yes, it is not WW2, but it is what the army loaned them. the displays change so there is always something there. the holocaust room is growing with some really interesting stuff given or loaned.
