Embalmer
Hi all. Since t&s is making me a new 1919a4, time to find a new tripod to display/shoot off. Was looking at the complete ima ones, and wondering if anyone had any experience with them. Any other options out there to consider?
AlexanderA
It will fit on a Sokolov wheeled mount. This may be the least expensive option right now.
Embalmer
Ended up finding a rock island arsenal complete tripod made in 1954. Not WWII made, but still usgi, great shape, no holes in pads. Now waiting for gun to be completed. Pics of it with my b.a.r will follow.
dalbert
Embalmer, How much did you have to give for the tripod? David

emmagee1917
For about $1000 you could have picked up a mint m1917A1 or 2 tripod ( or about $600 when OOW has thier scratch and dent sales ) . With this tripod you could have added an AA extension ( you still can with a comercial produced M2 fitting copy ) and the M1917 /M1919/ M1918BAR AA fork adapter to shoot your BAR off of the tripod , too.Chris
Embalmer
Like I said 430 + shipping for a nos r.I.a 1950's m2 tripod with pintel and t&e I think I did well for a usgi made one. Though not WWII, it's a close enough for what I need

Embalmer
Anyone know the size of the washer that is on the t&e windage bar?(opposite adjustment knob). Disassembling mine to degrease and found in broken in 4 pieces. Numrich had them for 2.60, but not paying $5 for shipping.
emmagee1917
It is "special " , being 1/4 inside but only a 1/2 outside ( no bigger than the nut from corner to corner ) . Plenty of room around it though. Don't see why a standard 1/4 inch SAE washer would not work . I did not dissemble my unit to look at the underside of the washer to see if there was a ridge , ledge , or if it was really a washer or a recessed bushing . You have the pieces , let me know if you need more info ( ie. , do I need to strip it to help ) .Chris
