wwiifirearms
My forms are going in tomorrow on a Neal Smith Sten Mk II and I figure I have 6 months to look for stuff I'll want with it. Any additions, suggestions, or items for sale on the following list:-magazine loader-extra mags-.22 conversion(if anyone has made one, I haven't found it)-T-stock(comes with the loop)-modern stock upgrades(I thought it would be fun to find a way to mount an AR pistol grip and telescoping stock, but not looking to modify the gun. Anyone making this or seen a design I could steal) Thanks for reading!-wwiifirearms
dalbert
wwiifirearms, There are plenty of Sten accessories to collect. You need an original sling, and you will definitely need a magazine loader, if you want to shoot more than 20 rounds at a time, and have any feeling left in your thumbs. Take a look at the pinned Sten reference post, and you'll get an idea of what's available. Congratulations on your purchase! smkummer
I have observed a wood stock for the Sten II that looks like that of a SMLE. Someone stated that they were of Canadian origin. I too am waiting on my MKII. While I did not shoot the gun with the wood stock I got to shoulder it and the extra weight felt good and appeared that it would smooth the shooting of bursts. A pic of this stock is posted in the sten/sterling section of Uzi Talk.
dalbert
smkummer, That sounds like a Mk V stock. I have one in my collection. I prefer the skeletonized stock on my Mk II, but if you liked the feel of it on the Sten you shouldered, maybe it's an accessory you should look for. I haven't seen any available at gun shows in a while, and it seems like they were pretty common about 10-15 years ago. Then again, I haven't really been looking for them. There's bound to be one around somewhere if you keep your eyes peeled. David Albertdalbert@sturmgewehr.com
smkummer
The MKV stock is different than the one I observed and someone posted a pic on the Uzi talk forum under Sten/Sterling. Again, this stock looks like it was off of a Lee Enfield. If I knew how to drag a pic I would.
RoscoeTurner
Save your money for the 22 conversion and use it to buy a decent reloading machine such as a Dillon 550 or 650.

RoscoeTurner
The one part I would recommend to buy now before they start drying up is a replacement original barrel. All the other spares are in plentiful supply.
wwiifirearms
Thanks for the tips.Unfortunately what need before the reloading gear, is a full-auto friendly range in Northeast Ohio. Does anyone make a. .22 kit? At least that I can shoot in my barn.Anyone know a good range in Northern Ohio?I'm starting to think I'll need to buy some land just to play with my toys. I am thinking of buying a couple of Bullet Bunkers for the barn for now.-wwiifirearms
