I have a gun that I am attempting to determine if it is an original or a replica. It's in awesome shape, regardless, but I know there is alot of difference.

The gun I have says on the breech:

Thompson Semi Automatic Carbine Caliber 45 Automatic cartridge Model of 1927 A 1 Serial # 5A21

On the opposite side of the breech it says: Auto Ordnance Corp. West Hurley, New York and has the following patent #'s 1,131,319 1,338,866 1,340,891 1,340,943 1,347,754 1,349,345 1,352,414 1,357,208 1,363,809 1,403,623 1,406,546 1,408,976.

Can anyone enlighten me? Thanks

roynlori,

Here's what it is:

It's an original Auto-Ordnance West Hurley Model of 1927-A1 Semi-Automatic Carbine.

If you're asking if it's an original...

Colt...The answer is no

Savage...The answer is no

Bridgeport...The answer is no

Auto-Ordnance West Hurley...The answer is yes

Kahr/Auto-Ordnance...The answer is no

It's not a Thompson Submachine Gun, but it is a descendant semi-automatic model made by Auto-Ordnance in West Hurley, New York. Kahr currently manufactures the same type of gun in several different models. If you're looking for a value, you'd need to post photos, but it's probably a $650 to $1000 gun.

This was not the question that I thought it would be when I opened this thread and I had a bad flashback (a few older members might remember this)

Happy boo day.
