roynlori
I have a gun that I am attempting to determine if it is an original or a replica. It's in awesome shape, regardless, but I know there is alot of difference. The gun I have says on the breech:Thompson Semi Automatic Carbine Caliber 45 Automatic cartridge Model of 1927 A 1 Serial # 5A21On the opposite side of the breech it says: Auto Ordnance Corp. West Hurley, New York and has the following patent #'s 1,131,319 1,338,866 1,340,891 1,340,943 1,347,754 1,349,345 1,352,414 1,357,208 1,363,809 1,403,623 1,406,546 1,408,976. Can anyone enlighten me? Thanks Edited October 31, 2012 by roynlori
Z3BigDaddy
Probably should be posted to the main Thompson board but... What do you mean by "original or a replica"?
dalbert
roynlori, Here's what it is: It's an original Auto-Ordnance West Hurley Model of 1927-A1 Semi-Automatic Carbine. If you're asking if it's an original... Colt...The answer is noSavage...The answer is noBridgeport...The answer is noAuto-Ordnance West Hurley...The answer is yesKahr/Auto-Ordnance...The answer is no It's not a Thompson Submachine Gun, but it is a descendant semi-automatic model made by Auto-Ordnance in West Hurley, New York. Kahr currently manufactures the same type of gun in several different models. If you're looking for a value, you'd need to post photos, but it's probably a $650 to $1000 gun.
