OCM
You bet-Photo on the left is the display at the FBI, of various Dillinger weapons. ( Thompson, Winchester 351, Colt Mini Machine Pistol, etc.) and above, barely visible, a placard showing FBI Agents that have been killed in the line of duty. Can't remember date, I think 1935.Photo at right, is Dillinger body at the Cook County Morgue in Chicago, just after it was brought in. Agents are taking fingerprints on the body. 1934 Usually press photos have a typed bit of copy on the back, about the picture and credits ( Wide World, Chicago Tribune) . They sent these out on the news wires to subscribers. The term opriginal should be replaced with old. Fairly common in the Dillinger collecting/historical world. OCM
Yep- I was once told many, many years ago, by a news photographer, the only true original is the negative. Everything else is just a copy of the original, in a positive print. I guess that's correct. ? Sandy
