Ville28
I am a relatively new WH owner who has a few years to go on PK's list and have a question about the observed wear pattern on my lower. Please see the attached photo. Is this normal for a WH 1928? I know that most WH's suffer from issues that may be detrimental over the long term but I would really like to occasionally enjoy it, especially if it will eventually be too pretty to shoot 😊 I do have Merle's .22 kit that I intend to use primarily in the interim. Thank you very much for any additional information.

PK.
The wear shown in your photo just aft of the sear is caused by burrs raised on the bolt by its engagement with the sear; this is seen on every make of TSMG if the sear/bolt engagement raises a burr. Stone the bolt bottom flat again.
Ville28
Thank you so much so the information. Attached is a picture of the two bolts I use. Do you have a brief description of what I need to use and procedure to correct the issue? Thanks again.
emmagee1917
Run your finger nail forward , along the flat of the bottom of the bolt , over the edge of the bolt notches. If you feel a ridge ( burr ) going over the center area ( sear hits and turns metal in the center area , it does not reach clear across the bolt so cannot turn the outer edges ) , you file or stone the ridge away until it merges back with the outer edges. It's this ridge that digs into the frame and causes those marks.Chris
TSMGguy
I consider this wear pattern to be entirely normal.
