ron_brock
I recently picked up this holster. It has the appearance of US web gear, but could be other countries as well. There are no markings and has an appearance of an improvised piece. The magazine pouch is oddly shaped for gun magazines so I was thinking maybe some type of flare or signal gun. Any ideas?
dalbert
Ron, Does the magazine pouch appear to have been added to the holster? Without going to the books, I seem to recall an M1911 holster of similar design. David Albertdalbert@sturmgewehr.com
ron_brock
David,The pouch is defintiely added on and is not completly stitched tight to the holster. You could feed a belt between the pouch and the holster.
mongoose
Looks a lot like a modified Webly holster.

Big Al
I suspect it is Israeli for the Hi-Power. Their LBE was based on the British Pattern '37, and their belts had eyelets for US-style M1910 double hooks. ron_brock
Thanks for the ideas guys. I searched for some examples of the Isreali Hi-Power holster and Webley gear, but did not find an example that looks the same as mine. I will post this photo over on the US militaria forum to see if anyone else has ideas. If you have a link to an example like this, I would love to see that. - Ron
dalbert
The more I look at it, the more I think it's rigger made. I thought there was an early M1911 holster that looked like this, and I was thinking of the Mills M1911 holster, but it has a round flap.
