Here's a geeky thing- Clicking thru the channels last night, just bored, ran into the movie Public Enemies. It was about over, JD ( Depp) was walking into the police station with the Dillinger squad, asked what the score on the game was... yes, BS, but a movie.

Anyway, it goes onto the shooting out front of the Biograph movie house. I need to go to bed, about 9:35 my time, hour later Chicago time.

Interesting, this was about the same time, same date ( 1934) Dillinger was killed.

Told my wife about it...........bored as hell about Dillinger- Again .

Haaaaaaaaaaaaa.

Yeah, Sandy...the costumes, cars, period music, and Thompson porn were awesome, but the historical accuracy was, well...meh. Typical Hollywood Depp-dream-reality, lol. ;)

Although I like Depp as a pirate (or other quirky roles), Warre Oates did a better version of JD....he even looked a lot more like him.

Agree totally . They did make up Depp to be a dead ringer in a couple takes, using old photos of JD.

Only thing real good thing was as you say, cars, guns, period clothing. The Biograph shot was fairly accurate, got to see what it was like that night. He was gone when he hit the alley, body lived till they got to the hospital not far away, then over to the Cook County morgue.

Have to agree again on that one. Same with the guys going after Barrow, one opps and you're a goner. These law enforcement guys were pretty confident in their ability, I'm sure, but so was Dillinger, Barrow, Nelson etc.

Law won tho.

Haaaa try ? "Oh Brother WAT " , Nelson " George " is being hauled off for shooting cows with a Thompson-

Background music is by John Hartford, god rest his soul. Used to be on Smothers Brothers.

Great sound track for that scene. Probably YouTube it ?????

Oh yeah, I love John Hartford...steamboat pilot and a helluva fiddle player...he will be missed in the world of bluegrass/folk music. That was him playing the fiddle ("Hogfoot") in that last scene with Nelson.

O brother, Where art thou? is one of my all-time favorite movies...I could watch it over and over again, lol. Matter of fact, my dad's ringtone on my cell phone is the audio clip of Clooney saying, "Look, I don't want Fop, god dammit...I'm a Dapper Dan man!" :)
