Iver Johnson M2

Recommended Posts

I have and Iver johnson M2, an orginal gun. Everywhere i have checked Iver Johnson never made a M2. On subguns another

person is trying to sell a "Paratrooper Iver Johnson" with a folding stock. Who was making these guns and putting the name

" Iver Johnson " on the reciever. I know is no conversion as far as I can tell. Check out sub guns a take a look at the one posted

there and give me some opinions. thanks.

WV,

If my memory is correct, many years ago, Iver Johnson bought both Plainfield and Universal. I think I.J. closed the Universal operation and moved to the Plainfield location before going out of business for good. I seem to remember this plant was in Arkansas.

I can't remember if the 1986 gun law had something to do with their demise or if it was the large number of carbines imported from Korea or maybe the assault rifle ban.

Maybe someone with a better memory can comment.

Jim C

PS, Plainfield M2 carbines are very common.
