wv1928 Posted August 18, 2013 Report Share Posted August 18, 2013 I have and Iver johnson M2, an orginal gun. Everywhere i have checked Iver Johnson never made a M2. On subguns anotherperson is trying to sell a "Paratrooper Iver Johnson" with a folding stock. Who was making these guns and putting the name" Iver Johnson " on the reciever. I think I.J. closed the Universal operation and moved to the Plainfield location before going out of business for good. I seem to remember this plant was in Arkansas.I can't remember if the 1986 gun law had something to do with their demise or if it was the large number of carbines imported from Korea or maybe the assault rifle ban.Maybe someone with a better memory can comment.Jim CPS, Plainfield M2 carbines are very common.
