MG34 extractor removal and replacement

Recommended Posts

There is a special tool for this, photo 465 in MG34-MG42 German Universal Machineguns.

What is the reason you want to remove the extractor? If it is not broken and only needs cleaning don't worry about removing it, just soak it in cleaner, dry and oil.

Many thanks for the information. The bolt is pitted and i want to remove parts for spares. I looked at the tool in Folke's book, but still do not know how to proceed. I applied some serious force on the ejector retainer against the spring, but that damn thing will not come out. I think one needs 3 hands.
