elvis3006
I have a deactivated Mk 1 Bren gun, the upper and lower receivers are welded together preventing disassembly. Can the stock and pistol grip come off without special tools and seperating the upper and lower ? Thank you.
m3bobby
Yes, all gun and butt types are removed from the butt plate end. If its a Butt Mk1 then push the catch to release the but plate. Use the Bren multi tool (Tool Mk1 or 2)to push and turn the return spring cap and then remove (Its under spring pressure). Now use the tool to undo the nut holding the butt to the return spring tube. Now remove the butt, some gentle persuasion may be needed to release 50+ years of crap holding it together. For a Mk2 butt onwards, just undo the large slotted nut in the middle of the butt plate but be carefull as its under spring pressure and can launch it's self. Now remove the butt.
