AlanDavid
Without a pretty convincing paper work trail I do not see how this gun can be conected to Winston Churchill. This picture was taken near Hartlypool on July 31st 1940 and was being held by a soldier when the Prime Minister inspected it.When Mr McPherson says that the gun would have been been looked after and passed to Donnington - why? Thompsons were in short supply the gun would have been handed back to the soldier and into genral service, where it would have remainded until being dispossed of after the war.It is not part of the first batch which was 180 guns, these all had horizontal fore ends not the vertical front grip.
