michaelkih
So I bought what I thought was an all original WW2 era MG42 belt loader. Got it, and it is covered in waffen marks, etc, but the hopper was actually modified to only fit and load 308 rounds. I tried it with loading my HK21 belts, and it is WAY WAY better than a normal HK21 loader. Has anyone else seen this before? Is this rare, or junk now? RoscoeTurner
For a serious WWII collector it lost much of its value as soon as it was modified. It does pay to learn something about this stuff before you go throwing your money around.
Frogman 22
I'm glad you posted your information, I might have made the same mistake very easyly. Edited March 8, 2015 by Frogman
MG08
The other issue is that this is a market where fakes are done all the time. Without "experts" seeing it, posting photos etc, it is very possibly a post war yugo loader with waffenampts added. Maybe they got carried away.
