Waffen Und Bier
I was at an antique mall not to long ago and ran across a pre Prohibition whiskey bottle from The Duffy Malt Whiskey Company out of Rochester NY. No label, but the raised lettering and logo on the glass make it pretty neat. Truth be known it's probably late 1800's vintage, but I thought it would look good in the 1920/1930 cops and robbers display. I about fell out when I spotted the mail bag on the floor of a booth in that same mall. Found a really cool photo on line of the same type on the ground next to an early 20th century automobile and thought that it would go well with my cops and robbers display as the wanted flyer I have and display feature a notorious mail truck robber, Gerald Chapman. It's the little things in life. Hope to display it all at the Maitland Florida Shriner's Hall show in February (barring anymore medical issues). Anyway, here's a crappy photo I took and posted with my tablet. Edited December 5, 2015 by Waffen Und Bier

Waffen Und Bier
I paid what I would have had I found them on line. Thing is I would have never thought to look for a mail bag on line. It was just fortuitous (or maybe even synchronicity) that this particular one happen to catch my eye on the floor. Some quick on line research dated it to circa 1920 (the modern photo next the the early 20th century auto got my pulse racing...only needed a '21 and a hot chick to do more). Perfect for my era display. I already had a smaller different brand pre Prohibition, but the Duffy jumped out at me and could even go with my western guns display. levallois
Very cool find! I also am not that lucky but keep hoping every time I go into an antique mall. I found an interesting article about Duffy's online. See the attached file. DuffysMaltWhiskey_Fincham.pdf
Waffen Und Bier
I have crap luck at garage sales, but flea markets and antique malls have been good to me the past few years. I stop whenever I have a few minutes. I've found New York and Chicago labeled straw boater's hats, named CIA Honorable Service medal (recipient lived two towns away from me), 1920-40's police items, etc. just killing time. The neat thing is it's often priced much less than what I've paid on line.
