joseph12297
Thanks to Bill Menosky's book I have info on the Toy Thompson I have It is an HF model, but unlike all of the other HF's in Bills book this one has an M1 Crossbolt stock. It's an HF fixed bolt clicking model. Without the diagonal cut on the receiver top, has the toy butt plate, and HF toy rear grip and horizontal front grip. HF bent aluminum peep sight. Also has the HF sling swivels, with a "Kerr" type unmarked metal sling, and appears to have RI ORD CENTER 1945 stamped on it. Sorry about all the odd nomenclature, tough to follow unless you have Bills cool book 😊 Took a quick pic Will post more later Larry Edited August 19, 2016 by joseph12297

dalbert
Nice! That makes 7, and I believe there's another one that will soon come to light... Congratulations! David Albertdalbert@sturmgewehr.com
joseph12297
Bill has stated that this "plug" has been missing on other toy guns, pictures attached. May have been to increase the noise from the clicker when removed, to be determined.Though it almost appears that there may have been glue on the end that has dryed up over time. timkel
Interesting. Were the wood Thompsons full size or a reduced size for children?

TD.
Very very nice. Thank you for sharing! Bill's work on this subject is outstanding. I believe Bill sells a booklet just on this story. See Bill at the TCA Show & Shoot next month. It is a must have paper item for the serious Thompson enthusiast.
full auto 45
I have a couple of cabinet makers/carpenters in the family. I wonder if they could make a wooden copy.
davidnj
I bought this wooden Maguire Thompson at an auction in Pennsylvania in 2022. It was part of an estate from a USMC collection. Based on the other handful of these I've read about this would make #9. In excellent condition just missing the plug. Anyone interested?
68coupe
It's very interesting to see an M1 carbine sling on this. They're inexpensive, yet, to a kid, still look to play the part. Karl
