bmarvin
Someone spent a bunch of time polishing that aluminum http://jamesdjulia.com/item/1677-396/ I don't really need a 5th one but I'll probably bid anyways
JimB
Yes, wiped the decal right off the frame. Not that many decals survived anyways though. Have one I am willing to sell. Pretty clean example in the $2.5K range

JimB
The 25mm Manville. Also have a Hawk 37mm which was an evolution of the Manville by Rojack 37mm Manvilles are scarce, the 12 gauge variants even more so Edited March 23, 2017 by JimB
bmarvin
Here's an older photo showing one of each. I've added another gas gun as well as a couple pistols and my cases aren't shown.
JimB
Impressive ! Mine allegedly came out of the Indiana National Guard back in the 70s Always a crowd pleaser, particularly with the kiddos at Gun Showspretty funny...I run into more children that know exactly what Manvilles & Hawks are these days than adults due to Video Gaming Have a mess of this stuff I have accumulatedfrom the Mannville up to cutting edge current like the FN303 & Korean pneumatic rubber bullet guns
dalbert
A lot of these came out of Indiana. I need to look back at the article I wrote for SAR about Manvilles maybe 9 or 10 years ago, but I think they were based out of Indiana originally. Bill Helmer had one of the 12 gauge models that ended up being purchased by a museum in DC that has since closed. It was serial number 001. David Albertdalbert@sturmgewehr.com I have/had paperwork on mine regarding providence and it's use in some major Indiana Labor riot in the 30s. Not been able to find it since the ex sandwich maker decided to clean up the man cave so maybe was tossed. Had another 25mm with 12 gauge sleeves you could drop in the drum years ago. That came out of a PD. Even swap for two nice Ithica M37s MPDS guns and is now in the NFTR. My understanding was that the IN National Guard bought a number in the 30s as did Michigan
dalbert
I have some photos of the 12 gauge gun in action during unrest in Chicago in the 1930's. David Albertdalbert@sturmgewehr.com

ron_brock
You guys are really being mean. I do want a Manville for the collection but my play money is accounted for. I'll just be satisfied drooling for now. However, any information that anyone has on Manville or locations of the plants will be gratefully appreciated. I've not had time to see if I can dig up anything in Pontiac on history, but I am sure there is some out there. I tried to locate the plant, but not sure I had the right building and it was not really an area I wanted to spend a lot of time wandering around. I understand that all the tooling and assets were destroyed. Ron PS I like the patent shown on display with the revolvers, BM, that's a nice touch. ron_brock
Thanks! So far I have only found the location as Pontiac, Mi no street address. Will need to look in some old directories at the library. Ron
bmarvin
So the Julia gun brought $7762.50. That's gotta be a record. I'm in the process of closing the deal on an interesting Manville.I'll post details once it's completed

bmarvin
I agree. The 25mm guns are the most common. Even with the case I can't see over $5000. I'd think $3500 or so is more in the ballpark
