Instead of a slow rise in price, M-1 Carbine, M-1911A1, or M-1 Rifle style, the Thompson has flown through the roof! A handful MAY be worth $20,000+ (unissued condition), but the run of the litter military issue Tommygun, never. craig101 Posted May 4, 2004 Report Share Posted May 4, 2004 i've dumped a drum from my 28 thats coming in. it was fun, but not something i need to do often. i have even given thought of trading my 28 for a M1/M1A1 when the transfer comes through. it just be the frame of mind, whenever i think of thompson's i think of the classic WWII thompson (M1), not the 28 style gun. dunno. All sorts of photos of US and Commonwealth troops in North Africa, Italy, and the Pacific. One that pops into mind is Capt Ron Speirs (sp?)from Ambrose's Band of Brothers book. The 1928 is my dream Thompson. Got my eye on one with Brit proofs and Brit wood in beauty condition for $15,000. Owner doesn't want to sell just yet. Damn.
