DARIVS ARCHITECTVS
Hello all. I posted some pictures and videos of the machinegun shoot at Westbranch Gun Club in Princeton, MN that we attended last Saturday. Not a bad turnout, and lots of action. On display were many interesting guns, including a crappy French Chauchat that Bill brought. Everyone had a great time, except for the careless young man who blew a 9mm hole through his hand with a "gangstah" gun, probably a Mac10. What good are those things anyway. They don't shoot straight except when aiming at your own hands and feet. http://198.144.2.125/MG42/FULL/mg-42%20soldat%20SML.jpg Kurt Suleski Proud MG-42 owner Edited May 17, 2004 by DARIVS ARCHITECTVS
craig101
he wasn't the only careless person at the shoot. of course he was the only one to reap the consequences of it. IF i go next time, i will have a flak jacket/bullet proof vest. there were HIGH berm hits and careless gun handling abound.
DARIVS ARCHITECTVS
Many of those people who paid to fire other people's firearms were not familiar with the operation of the firearms. It was crowded, and that makes it even more imperative to take the time to instruct the shooter the proper and safe operation of the firearm. Time pressure for getting everyone a chance to shoot is no excuse for not guiding each of the shooters in the specific operation of the firearm to be used especially because they were extremely varied. All the friends who shoot my '42 are familiar with it's operation, and what to do when a stoppage occurs. Injuries or damaged firearms are avoidable in almost all cases, except in severe case of fatigue of parts from age, abuse, lack of proper cleaning, or lack of proper maintenance. There were a few idiots shooting at debris too close to the firing line, which begs for a nasty ricochet and an injury. I also noticed a lack of discipline with regard to heeding the cease fire horn. An open range demands more responsibility on the part of the participating shooters.
