deerslayer
They had a small selection of Thompson's and BAR's... At least one of the Thompson's has a solid aluminum receiver. But a nice museum overall.
halftrack
Being that I live in New Orleans and having been there several times, the weapon display is nothing to brag about. Overall the museum is appealing to the general public, however, I have been to many private smaller museums with a much better collection of weapons (real ones) and individual equipment that was more appealing to the true history enthusiast. giantpanda4
IIRC the aircraft hanging from the roof are fantastic! And when we were there maybe 5 years ago, they were still rebuilding a PT boat. Is that done yet?

DZelenka
I recently brought my grandkids. It was pretty funny when we were looking at the German an US weapon display and could point out that I had every full auto on display. I am also in New Orleans. I have been to the museum a number of times. Over the years, it has gotten better and better. Anyone who likes history from that period must get there. StrangeRanger
In the pix posted, the weapon on the top right appears to be an M20 Super Bazooka. Please correct me if I'm wrong but I always thought they did not make it into the field in WWII.

Mike Hammer
Those of us that live in the Bayou state need to get together and form a group, not only for ourselves but for board members visiting. There's not that many get together's down here, and there should be. MH
