dalbert
Seems like this would ruin a car for the future, if ever activated during a theft, but interesting nonetheless...Toyota has applied for a patent for a system that could deploy tear gas in their cars if it detects the car is being stolen. Sounds like a potentially complicated liability issue, as well. https://www.foxnews.com/auto/toyotas-tear-gas-system-designed-to-smoke-out-car-crooks David Albertdalbert@sturmgewehr.com
Adg105200
Yeah, I can definitely see some bad things happening with that. Because every new system in cars works flawlessly right?... Can't forsee any recalls on that... lol. I mean, cars regular alarms are set off now and then at work sometimes just function checking a door or disconnecting and reconnecting a battery etc. Or what if some Mom leaves her kids in the car for 30 sec to grab some drinks or pay for gas etc. It also does depend on how the system is designed but it just doesn't seem like the smartest idea.
